  1. Hi all, thanks for your replies, I'm going to look at the wiring inside the bellows between the door and the body. Either way I'll post the results when I get the chance to investigate.
  2. Hi, does anyone have any ideas on this? A3 partial electrics on driver's door not working. The passenger mirror works from the driver's door switch, but the driver's mirror doesn't work, no movement or demisting, also with the door illumination isn't working, but all the windows and the locking button do work from the driver's door buttons. I don't know where the break in continuity could be, but all plugs beneath the door cards are connected. Any suggestions would be welcomed.
  3. Hi, does anyone know what under dashboard relays control the wash wipe system. I have fitted a new rear wiper motor but there is no power to the plug. I've checked the fuses in the cabin fusebox and all are fine, so I am assuming that one of the relays under the dashboard control the circuits for the motor and the washer. Strangely, the front wiper works but with no washer function. This will be because the washer pump is dual supply to the front and rear. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as the Haynes manual doesn't provide enough detail on the subject. With kindest regards Robert L Newton.
  4. Hi Gareth, Thanks for your response. I'm going to check the rear bushes and drop links next and see what needs to be replaced. I think the rear shocks were original, looking at the condition. One was totally inoperative, the other gushing fluid when compressed. Effectively just shells. I was hoping that replacing the shocks would have solved the bouncing back end but alas not to be so simple a fix. I've set all tyre pressures to 34psi. So they might not be the correct pressure, they are all equal.
  5. Thanks for the advice. I'll inspect the roll bar bushes, drop links and the front shocks, then get the tracking done if needed. There doesn't seem to be any knocking from the suspension, but I suppose wear and tear can result in many symptoms. The steering feels precise at slow speed but the car seems to want to steer alternately side to side as the speed increases. Strange, I've never experienced this before with any car I've had. Regards Robert.
  6. My A3 gets wayward at 50mph. The rear shock absorbers were knackered, and have been replaced, but the car still wants to wander from side to side at around 40 - 50. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Regards Robert.
