Thanks for your advice, I will have a look at LLLPARTS website. i had the engine running on easy start yesterday. So going to try the crankshaft sensor first before any further dismantling. I do have soot from the EGR area so will check that after fitting the sensor when I find it! I’ve not confirmed it’s the sensor but have had some diagnostics done. P0341 error code.

Selling for Spares or Repairs. Turns over but wont Fire. 00833 Camshaft Position Error. New one fitted still the same issue. Full service history. 180K. Metallic Black Bodywork and interior in Excellent condition. All electrics work, full leather. 6 speed manual Gearbox and Diffs all ok. Wheels & Tyres all good. Powerflow Exhaust system rear boxes removed. Darkside Developments FMI with hard pipes. Pipercross washable filter. Stage 1 tuned with printouts New serpentine belt fitted recently with new water pump and tensioner. Sensible offers considered Thanks

After extensive calls and looking I feel the timing may have jumped a tooth on the Chain. Is Anyone interested in purchasing for spares or repairs. Interior is in excellent condition. Hi Steve, She was running short journeys up until 7 weeks ago (15mins each way to work). Now in working 30mins away from home each day mostly down the dual carriage way so she is getting some heat. I'm not sure on the DPF as its been re-mapped prior to my purchase. All I know is its stage 1 but don't know on DPF etc I changed the camshaft sensor on Friday and its still throwing the same 00833 code.

Our car is an Audi A4 B7 3.0TDI quattro 2006 We took her out on Saturday night and drove to the shops 1 mile away. It was cold but she started no problem at home. When we stopped at the shops she failed to fire up. Turns over fine but no firing. Left over night until next day when warmer. Still the same issue. RAC called and he tried Easy Start. Nothing. Fault code on OBS reader is 00833 which shows Camshaft position error. I have ordered a new sensor which I will fit on Friday. Has anyone else experienced this issue with theirs? There is also an amount off soot on top of the engine which could be from EGR. I*t looks like this has been building up over time but she's never not started. Its a bit of a worry! any comments would be helpful to either ease the worry or point me in another direction. Thanks Just for confirmation. I believe there is only one Camshaft Position Sensor on Bank 1. Can anyone confirm or provide an image of location? Thanks

Just dropping a message to say hello. We have owned our A4 B7 3.0TDI Quattro now for a few months. She's lovely to drive but had a few issues. Had to do Serpentine belt & water pump (Belt disintegrated whilst driving) not a big job at home though. Also replaced power steering pump hose (Split whilst going up a multi-storey carpark) That was heavy! Running Stage 1 remap 265HP, 580NM. Darkside FMIC kit. Pipercross. Exhaust system with straight pipes to rear (no silencers). Not sure what else is on her but she does whistle nicely during gearchange through the pipes. Does anyone know how many are actually running still in the UK. I've check the "how many left" and it didn't look like many. Anyway. will post some pics up soon Thanks Andrew & Victoria
