Happy you got it sorted in the end. The sad reality is that 100% effort is put into getting you to sign on the dotted line and parting with your money and then everything goes downhill from there, no one gives a flying f*** after that. Not just Audi to be fair.
-
Are you buying the car outright or PCP. If it’s PCP have you gone through a broker and have you had to use their finance. Either way you should be able to get your finance elsewhere at a better rate, or even a personal loan. if you are tied to that finance agreement for some reason you can legally withdraw from it as soon as you get the car but you will have to have an alternative finance package in place to pay them off. If you withdraw within 14 days you will only pay interest for the number of days you have had the car.
-
Wow, that’s disgraceful. Who is the finance from. Can you take your finance business elsewhere with better rates?
-
Not if you’re leasing it won’t because you’ll hand it back at the end of the lease. Privately could mean a few hundred quid. Psychological in the mind of the buyer if it’s registered 1st November instead of 30th October
-
Joe, I’d ask them not to register it until Wednesday 1st November, every little helps come re sale time, unless of course you’re leasing. And definitely get anything you can out of them 👍

Hi Joe, I ordered my car the same day as you with specific options so not a bog standard car. At that time delivery times were being quoted at 12-14 weeks, they are now nearer 12 months. Mine was built week 29 (July29th) and was at Emden on3rd August where it apparently sat for nearly seven weeks,( which I don’t believe it did). I ordered through a broker but eventually went direct to Lincoln Audi who were supplying the car on 19th September and they said it had just arrived that very day at Grimsby, but they provided me with a reg no at that point which makes me think they’d had it already 🤔. The next day I got a call to say it was now at the dealership and I got it delivered on 28th September. From arrival at Grimsby they have 7-10 days to get it to the dealership and delivers to you another 7-10 days later. if yours was shipped on 15th September you should have it by now, only thing that could be holding yours up is if it’s going to a central dealership first that is supplying lease companies rather than, as in my case, a private sale.
-
Absolutely crazy😱 I’ve had mine a week now and done just over a thousand miles. Very pleased with it.
-
At least that’s something positive. Hopefully it gets there in October but that will still be six months which is strange for a car ordered in April, based on other people’s experiences.
-
Wow, five months from ordering and only just got a build date. That is disgraceful. I know they are now quoting up to 12 months for delivery but that was certainly not the case in April. As I said before, my mate ordered his last week in March and got it delivered 1st week in June. It wasn’t a bog standard car either he had chosen some options. I’m still amazed at the inconsistency between dealers. Hope things progress quicker for you now, you just have to keep on at the dealer to get updates. Also ask them to provide the Audi order number and the VIN no as soon as it’s built. That way you will know if they sell it to another customer and just tell you yours has been delayed. You then get a later one off the line. Not uncommon I understand.

I think they would be hard pressed to void your warranty because you wrapped or painted a bit of exterior trim that serves no purpose other than cosmetic. im not even sure what could possibly be claimed for under warranty in respect of that. If the wrap or respray is crap then it’s my own fault.
-
Yes I’m looking at that as one option. The others are wrapping the chrome part or respraying it black.
-
Finally some good news 🤞
-
I hope the service improves under the new owners. You should at least have a confirmed build date by now. 🤞🤞🤞

Just had an update on delivery . I was told yesterday it had only just arrived at the port of Grimsby and a few hours ago I was told it was now at the dealers and will be delivered next Thursday.

I’m due to receive my new S-Line Avant shortly which will be exactly the same as the first picture, but I’ve always been undecided about the silver trim around the front bumper / fog lights. I think I prefer the ones on the black edition but I didn’t want the full black edition. I’ve also noticed that on some of the black edition S-Lines that the trim is only partly high gloss black but on others the whole section is high gloss black as per other two pics. Firstly thoughts on changing the silver trim and secondly can anyone explain the difference on the gloss issues.
-
Thinking about having said silver trim sprayed black. Having looked at some photos of the latest black editions it seems on some that the whole area of trim is high gloss black unlike on this, which I know is an S4 but some S Lines are the same.
-
Slightly off topic but just wondered what people’s thoughts are on the silver inserts around the fog lights. The picture attached is how my car will look but I’m not sure about these inserts, I think I prefer the black ones as in the black edition but I didn’t want the full black edition.

There are transporters coming in nearly every day and sometimes two a day so 🤞🤞🤞

I’ve had no update since it arrived at Emden on 5th August. The broker told me last Friday that there was no change to that but they get updated every Friday, sometimes after they close. As I got nothing from their Friday update on Monday or today I went direct to the dealer and spoke to the fleet manager. He said it arrived today but as there have been no carriers in today yet I suspect it actually arrived some time ago as there are carriers coming into Grimsby on a daily basis. This was the same circumstances as stufos posted last week. At Emden, nothing for weeks then out of the blue he’s told it’s at the dealer!
-
OK so I have just spoken to the Fleet manager at Lincoln Audi and lo and behold I’m told my car arrived at Grimsby this morning. He has given me a reg No and he was very optimistic that I’ll get it before we go on holiday on 29th 🤞🤞🤞

Just to clarify the details in my last post, my friend got an update every week from the supplying dealer, in his case, Grimsby Audi, which showed him what stage his car was at. This would change on the weeks where it had progressed and the relevant section highlighted exactly what stage it was at. I’ve attached a screenshot of what this would look like. This is what it says above the screenshot Shipping Times- updated for 2023 Below is an insight of the full shipping and build process of every Audi. You can see how many stages are left until you receive your new Audi

Mine was ordered 28th May, build week 29th July and at Emden by 5th August. My mate ordered his last week in March and got it within 9 weeks! Interestingly he told me yesterday that he had been able to track his order online, which I know you used to be able to but I thought Audi had stopped doing this. He got his from Grimsby Audi. He did state it was a bit hit and miss as he got notified of a build date, notified it had been built, notified it was on route to the port then notified of another build date when it was actually at the dealers.
-
I really hope so but don’t hold your breath, I’ve been thinking the same thing for four weeks! As far as I can tell there have been at least four RoRo’s from Emden to Grimsby this week, two on Wednesday and two yesterday so you just never know. Does anyone know for certain if it’s only VAG that ship through Emden to the UK?
-
So that could mean same thing really, it’s in transit and currently at the port.
