  1. I have the matching ignition barrel to the door. Could I not just fit that and then get it coded? And would that then code the remote central locking and the immobiliser
  2. It wasn't me that swapped the door. But I'm guessing no they didn't. If they had just kept the barrel out of the original door I wouldn't have this issue, The car was a mess when I got it. I've had to repair all sorts. The central locking and the radio signal are the last things Ive got to fix.
  3. Yeah the door was changed but the ignition barrel to match is in the boot. My car would only need 2 barrels anyway, one for drivers door, one for ignition. There's no other places for my key to go.
  4. I've had the car over a year now and it has 2 different keys, one for the door, one for the ignition. Neither of the remotes work for central locking. I have the ignition barrel to match the door, I'm just wondering what's my best course of action to put it down to one key. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
  5. I've managed to find some new top halves. So I'll have another go at it when they arrive. Appreciate everyone's input.
  6. I have yeah, I spent a good 2-3 hours on it yesterday and there was no joy.
  7. Hey, I have it written down but I'm at work atm. The bolts came out easily and the arb was moving freely, I just cannot separate the two halves of the clamp to remove them and replace the bushes.
  8. For reference, this is what they look like, can't purchase these as they're part of a arb kit and the kit is £400 and for a tiguan lol
  9. Doing some work to the front end of my a3 and encountered a problem with the front anti roll bar clamps. Problem being, they will not come off. They're the type of clamp that has a top and bottom plate surrounding the Bush and bolt in through the subframe. Does anyone know where I can buy new ones so I can give up fighting with them and cut them off.
  10. Out of curiosity how easy/difficult is it to change the nozzles on the injectors for firad 120? A step by step would be helpful. Judging If I can do all the work (bar the map) myself and the injectors is the only thing I'm mildly concerned about doing.
  11. hey, does anybody have any standard susp[ension for a 2.0tdi 140. if you do could you measure the distance between the bottom of the strut to the droplink mount hole. much appreciated.
  12. Just tried changing my headunit to get rid of my dropping signal (process of elimination) it needs a security code and I don't have it. Is there any way to get the code for free? I begrudge paying £13 to unlock it when it might not even fix my problem. And if I need to put my original back in, I'll need a code for that too. This car will be the death of me. It has sucked from the day I got it.
  13. A follow on from my keys post.... my newest issues include, reg lights not working at all, changed them for 2 different bulbs and still off. Audi concert radio keeps randomly dropping signal to static. Windows keep randomly rolling themselves all the way down. Doesn't matter if the car us open, ignition is on, they did it while I took my kids to the park while car was locked. And they did it earlier while I gad ignition on and I was changing sidelights. I've accepted I got a lemon but I'm now determined to put the work in to get it right.
  14. So the key that will fit the barrel will start the car just swapping that ring over? But won't the transponder in the key be wrong?
  15. Nope.
