  1. Hi @Magnet Many thanks and I believe it's exactly as you mentioned -narrow tyres cuts thru snow better, but I've since read other people's comments saying the wider wheel didn't have too adverse an effect in winterish weather. I've left it too late anyway - this is what happens when you ponder for too long and then just go for it. It's all being delivered & fitted on Thurs, I'm sure it'll all be alright on the night as they say. 🙂
  2. Hi All, took my sweet time to get this done as I just couldn't find genuine 18" Rotas with the correct center bore. So have opted for replicas. I just purchased these: https://www.omiwheels.com/products/18-audi-ttrs-style-alloy-wheel-gun-metal?_pos=1&_sid=f48303742&_ss=r I didn't get them machined as I don't want to deal with the corrosion and have booked in (not paid yet) for All Season Michelin Cross Climate 245 40 R18 to be fitted as it was the only 18" selection when booking. This was before I remembered there was a rating plate (sorry @FMOB)that says 225 45 on winter tyres (Now I understand the OEM for 18" is 245 40). Does anyone know whether I should change them to 225 45 - considering narrow tyres are better in snow, and these have less difference on the speedo and overall diameter and probably fewer issues with width than the 245 40 as the new rim is now 8in with ET 45 rather than the 7/7.5in ET 39 I have just now. Any advice is really welcome - I live in central belt Scotland where snow can be intermittent and sporadic - you might get it, you might not - though allegedly it is due next week!! ive attached the rating plate
  3. Hey @jonnnnny how did you get it fixed in the end? A delete or new parts? My A4 B9 is currently sitting at 70m no restart and been quoted £395 to delete -still in two minds whether to have it properly looked at and potentially end up with a bill of £2k+ for new parts.
  4. Hi @Steve Q is that a replica? It doesnt say whether it is genuine or not - but at that price point you would think it was.....
  5. Evening all, I know this is a year old now but if someone can help that would be really appreciated. I've done far too much reading and can't see the wood for the trees now. I have a standard stock sport 2016 B9 Avant with stock 17" wheels ET 38/9 I think. Im looking to upgrade to 18" rotors but for the life of me can't find genuine 18 rotors that come off an A4 /A5. There seems to be a surplus of either 19"s off A4/A5 or 18" rotors that come off A3/A1. The latter are 112 but the ET range are in the 50s. My question is, I thought the ET shouldn't stray more than 5mm from the stock, so would these A3/A1 rotors either not work on an A4, or would they look ridiculous?. I was also thinking of changing tyres to 225 45 instead of the standard 245 40 profile, just to keep the comfort levels up on the the sport suspension - I have 50 profiles just now, it's a family car and lots of miles for work mean i need to balance comfort and looks - hence not really keen to go to 19". Also would prefer not to get replicas -worried about quality safety.... Does anyone have any thoughts or photos of what the A3/A1 18"would be like on a 2016 A4 Avant?? I'm in Scotland so roads are not the greatest for our potholes etc. Your time and help is really appreciated!
