  1. Hi, I've cleaned the leaves and dirt from the same section in my car recently (just as a preventative maintenance and not due to any issues) and it did not look anywhere near as wet or moist as it does in your video, so as others have said there may be a blocked drain somewhere. In relation to damp smell, I've had a similar issue in another car (not Audi) and what helped to get rid of it was one of those air con cleaners, which is a small canister that you put in the car and set off with AC/ventilation on full blast for about 10 minutes (it is like a mini smoke bomb). I was sceptical about it before, but in my case it sorted out the damp smell from the air con for good. That said, I don't think it was as bad as yours, as I was not experiencing damp seatbelts or windows fogging up. So you may well have other issues, but for the sake of less than £10 it may be worth a go (I think I bought the aircon cleaner for less than £5 a couple of years ago).
  2. I'm not 100% sure, but my guess would be that it is located within HVAC control unit. I think it is fed through the tiny grill embedded in the fascia of the unit. Others will surely correct me if I'm wrong.
  3. Fair point. There is always the possibility that the missing connection is perhaps just for heated seats, which, sadly, mine is also lacking.
  4. Gareth, in all honesty, it is not worth the hassle in my opinion. I was just considering the swap if it was simple "plug and play" thing, but it does not look like it (at least not in my car). And I don't fancy making any changes to the wiring harness. So I'll just keep my old seats. Thanks for your replies. Marcin
  5. Hi Gareth, I think you might be on to something. I've just had a look at the wiring under my "poverty speck" seat and there is a gap between the red and black plugs. There is a space there for what looks like another plug, but sadly no socket. I have a sneaky suspicion that a car with electric seats would have a socket in that gap to correspond with a harness on electric seat. Photo added for clarification. Marcin
  6. Hi all, My car has manually adjusted front seats. If I wanted to swap them for electric ones, is it as simple as getting the old ones out and then putting the new ones in? I'm just thinking if it's the same electric harness (plug/socket) etc, or if it would require any more invasive work? Thanks.
  7. Just a quick update in case anyone comes across similar problem. After removing parts of plastic trim around the steering wheel/column and above the pedals it became clear that the sound is actually coming from the part where the steering column enters the floor/bulkhead. There is a metal plate surrounded by a rubber part. The steering column goes into that metal plate. Some gentle prodding and plenty of lubricant in that area, especially under the edges of the rubber part seem to have sorted it out and the squeak appears to be gone, so I consider it fixed (at least for now).
  8. Hello, I am hoping to get a bit of advice. There is a squeak when turning the steering wheel. It is not super loud, but it is annoying. The squeak seems to be coming from the steering column, just below the steering wheel, but I am not 100% sure. It is there when I turn the steering wheel "normally" or fast. If I turn it super slowly then it is not there. The steering is still very light at lower speeds and a bit more resistive at higher speeds, which I guess is how it should be. No issues with driving/steering except for the annoying squeak. Has anyone come across this? The car is a 2005 A6 3.2 saloon.
