    Would you?

Yes, generally I am of the same opinion. But I’m thinking preventative maintenance as I’m sure you are aware of how cruddy TB’s can get. It looks to be an easy removal procedure and “might” prevent a tight spot further down the line. Decisions decisions🤔😂
  2. Don’t you pay extra on insurance for “grey imports” also grey imports are generally less desirable on the used market also, I remeber hearing there is littllebor no underbody rust protection on japanese imports. Not the end of the world I suppose as this could be added here but something to consider. all this of course might have changed in recent years and if you plan on keeping the car a good few years less of an issue I suppose 🤔
  3. To another Audi? Intrigued why you would want to do this when there are so many uk cars available ?
  4. Clean throttle body as part of routine maintenence? engine runs fine apart from slight hesitation on take off in first. No fault codes. due to carry out oil and filter sservice within h next couple of weeks. looked at couple of videos on YouTube and removal of TB appears to be straight forward. im tempted to remove and clean both sides of butterfly and replace gasket. What you reckon, if it ain’t broken don’t fix it or remove and clean ?
  5. Modern motoring .. what a palava. anybody remeber the days you could swan in to your local auto spares outlet.. choose from 3 batteries for less than £50 and swap it out in the car park 😁
  6. Hi, on first viewing my 1.4 tfsi, I noticed the same issue you are experiencing… no warm air from blowers. Turned out to be the heater matrix. From new, Audi fit some kind gel bag in the system which over time breaks down and clogs up the matrix. Mine was sorted before purchase but I believe it’s quite an involved job.
  7. Thanks Steve 👍
  8. That a certain thread has new replys?
  9. Might be worth a try to cross reference to other makes with the same engine? VW, Skoda ?
  10. Always handy knowing a decent garage!
  11. Fantastic news Mr. G and thanks for returning to update your thread. shoutout for the garage is in order I think 👍
  12. I have an ongoing “issue” with bulb warning. If I notch the light switch from off to headlights on in one sweep the bulb warning will show up. if I switch incrementally then the warning light does not illuminate. Note, no bulbs are out even when the warning is illuminated. No real issue for me as long as I remember to switch incrementally.
  13. nightmare! Kerp us posted if you ever find a solution🤔
  14. Funny, how we (myself included) still refer to them as wing mirrors when its 30 odd years since they were positioned on the wing
  15. Fun fact! In times gone by, “Wing mirrors” were actually positioned on the wing! Strange but true
  16. That is the correct location. mine is a 3 door hatch. Possibly a 3 door hatch thing !?
  17. Open the door look along the flat of the bottom edge. you’ll see a metal bar protruding. It slots into the upper sill. There’s a plastic grommet where they contact. It’s part of the crash protection system.
  18. Nice! Don’t see many of these about now! more pics please
  19. It’s highly unlikely you’ll be able to legally do this…GDPR laws in the UK ! Long gone are the days when you could contact DVLA for a list of previous owners.
  20. in previous cars, I’ve had hard to trace rattles and clunks, it’s a million mile long shot but worth checking anyway on drive take up, I’ve had issues with noise from door hinges and check straps where they mount to the A pillar, also movement where the door latch engages at the B pillar. it’s always handy to apply a little lube at these points. On the A3, on the underside of the front doors, thwre is a bar which inserts to the sill, maybe worth applying a little lube/light grease here also. As said, a long shot but can’t do any harm
  21. Probably too much hassle to the sales guy to amend the order system 🤔😐😂
  22. Actually, that’s not a bad idea 🤔 But rather than remove the arm and blade (I dont like de wiperer’d look) I might just unplug the connector at the motor 😁
  23. It’s always raining there’s no need for washers 😂😉 seriously, once im through the mot I’ll remove the fuse again, I can’t be doing with a frozen to the window rear wiper! I’m just relieved it was an easy fix. I didn’t relish the thought of removing the front bumper to replace a faulty washer motor. I still find it bizarre there is no reference to the fuse doubling up with the rear wiper for my car 🤨
