  1. Thanks Steve 👍
  2. That a certain thread has new replys?
  3. Might be worth a try to cross reference to other makes with the same engine? VW, Skoda ?
  4. Always handy knowing a decent garage!
  5. Fantastic news Mr. G and thanks for returning to update your thread. shoutout for the garage is in order I think 👍
  6. I have an ongoing “issue” with bulb warning. If I notch the light switch from off to headlights on in one sweep the bulb warning will show up. if I switch incrementally then the warning light does not illuminate. Note, no bulbs are out even when the warning is illuminated. No real issue for me as long as I remember to switch incrementally.
  7. nightmare! Kerp us posted if you ever find a solution🤔
  8. Funny, how we (myself included) still refer to them as wing mirrors when its 30 odd years since they were positioned on the wing
  9. Fun fact! In times gone by, “Wing mirrors” were actually positioned on the wing! Strange but true
  10. That is the correct location. mine is a 3 door hatch. Possibly a 3 door hatch thing !?
  11. Open the door look along the flat of the bottom edge. you’ll see a metal bar protruding. It slots into the upper sill. There’s a plastic grommet where they contact. It’s part of the crash protection system.
  12. Nice! Don’t see many of these about now! more pics please
  13. It’s highly unlikely you’ll be able to legally do this…GDPR laws in the UK ! Long gone are the days when you could contact DVLA for a list of previous owners.
  14. in previous cars, I’ve had hard to trace rattles and clunks, it’s a million mile long shot but worth checking anyway on drive take up, I’ve had issues with noise from door hinges and check straps where they mount to the A pillar, also movement where the door latch engages at the B pillar. it’s always handy to apply a little lube at these points. On the A3, on the underside of the front doors, thwre is a bar which inserts to the sill, maybe worth applying a little lube/light grease here also. As said, a long shot but can’t do any harm
  15. Probably too much hassle to the sales guy to amend the order system 🤔😐😂
  16. Actually, that’s not a bad idea 🤔 But rather than remove the arm and blade (I dont like de wiperer’d look) I might just unplug the connector at the motor 😁
  17. It’s always raining there’s no need for washers 😂😉 seriously, once im through the mot I’ll remove the fuse again, I can’t be doing with a frozen to the window rear wiper! I’m just relieved it was an easy fix. I didn’t relish the thought of removing the front bumper to replace a faulty washer motor. I still find it bizarre there is no reference to the fuse doubling up with the rear wiper for my car 🤨
  18. Where do I say I’ve had no wipers ?
  19. Location of fuse highlighted in red
  20. Well blow me! I found the issue. With the mot looming, thought I’d better get my finger out! As above, a fuse for the windscreen washer pump is not listed. Now during winter last year I removed the fuse for the rear wiper because 1/ I never use the rear wiper and 2/ if the front wipers are switched on, the rear wiper automatically operates when reverse gear id selected. As I often reverse from my drive, This can put strain on the rear wiper and blade if the rear window is frozen. anyways, I refitted the fuse (number 47) hey presto, washers are working again. Odd that there's no mention of a fuse for the windscreen washers. Hope this might be of use if somebody searches for same issue on a 2012, 8v.
  21. Thanks cliff, I’ll do some digging.
  22. Isn’t working. No sound from motor. Can’t find a fuse listed in handbook.!!?? Will the motor have died? conflicting opinion online if the bumper needs to be removed to access the motor which is attached to screen washer bottle. Anybody swapped out a motor ? wipers are working fine btw!
