  1. Re the rear brakes, have you noticed excessive brake dust build up on either/both rear wheels? This can be an indication of a binding caliper. maybe raise the rear wheels and see if the wheel/wheels rotate freely without too much binding. if the caliper is binding badly you will notice the brake disc becoming hot after a run.
  2. I’m in Manchester what’s the name of the company? It’s always handy knowing local Audi parts suppliers
  3. it was notchy with the need to sometimes try a couple of times to get first and third to select… and now it isn’t. What exactly can be investigated 🤔😂I’m not about to start pulling things apart when everything is working as it should 😉
  4. Oh for sure , yes.
  5. Can we have a picture of the full car please? I love satin bronze on a black car. It’s what would i would choose (if I didn’t care) but wouldn’t want the attention it might bring to my car ☺️
  6. Don’t need to. I can open the glove box and put pressure on the open lid at the side and it stops. pretty sure the noise comes from the “hinge” or what ever the lid swivels on at the rear. but everything appears to be covered by trim. Just searched and theres a YouTube video showing how to remove the glovebox lid which looks a bit of a gaff. Was hoping somebody might have an easy fix.
  7. Gone from none existent when I got the car 6 months ago to mind blowingly annoying now. I think I’ve traced the noise to the right hand side of the glove box possibly where the box hinges at the rear !? I’d like to try and get some lube to it but everything appears to be covered by trim. Any ideas other A3 or Audi owners experienced this ? I’ll put up a video clip later
  8. Nice’ how much is it lowered and how does it ride on the new springs?
  9. Gearbox in my A3 had been notchey since purchase. Dawned on me today this is no longer the case. I may still carry out a gear oil change. Shouldn’t temp fate but I do like a free fix 🤔😁
  10. Heres how I did mine on my previous car. The sensor was just over a tenner on eBay. You’ll need to scroll about halfway down the page when it opens. https://www.detailingworld.co.uk/threads/project-audi.348112/page-9
  11. This is something Ive been looking at doing. Also the chrome window surrounds. wrapping looks a bit of a pain for a beginner like myself so I’m looking at plasti coat.
  12. A couple of things to bear in mind …if there’s no exhaust parts hanging down /loose, Maybe a stone trapped between brake disc and backing plate ! It happened to me once! Maybe a damaged backing plate making contact with a brake disc? I noticed a squealing sound at one point … maybe a sticking brake calliper? Are any of your brake disc getting exceptionally hot?
  13. Hope it gets sorted mate!
  14. Hmmm… that’s what I did with my last A3. Might resort to doing it here 🤔
  15. I plan to hardwire my dashcam. wondering how the A pillar trim panel is removed?
  16. Like nothing ever happened. Great job there.
  17. I was hoping somebody might have an excel spreadsheet they could share 🤣
  18. I’m not sure such a thing exist. though they were slagged off at the time (by some) back in the day PRINTED Haynes manuals were invaluable. I believe there are too just too many various types in any particular model range to make a comprehensive Haynes manual feasible today. There appears to be a HAYNES online manual.. don’t know how comprehensive that would be.
  19. Last month I had a rear caliper fitted to my 1.4tfsi. It has an EP brake. searching around I found prices to be all over the place. you can get them new (with motor) from eBay for about £90! prices go over £300 plus… and some vendors charge a surcharge for your old caluper. I settled on one for £177 inc vat. (No surcharge) from brakes international. I paid £80 labour to have it fitted at a local Audi specialist. i dint look to buy a caliper without motor .. I wasn’t aware this was an option !?? I guess if money is no object, you could replace both callipers at the same time but callipers do not necessarily require changing in pairs based on the off chance the one not replaced is going to fail any time soon.
  20. Any of you guys keep a maintenance log for your cars … excel spread sheet or the like?
  21. Timely post! only last week did I experiment by filling with V Power. I've been experimenting with the drive select function in my A3 and have been amazed by the difference in performence between the settings especially the "Dynamic" setting which tightens up the steering and adds quite a bit of pep to performance. thought I'd bung in V Power to see if performance could be improved further...I can confirm I found a noticeable difference...throttle response is improved and maybe placebo effect but the engine certainly sounds a bit smoother to my ears!?? . I'll probably do another fill with Shell V Power to clean before I return to my usual with this car. After running my last A3, a 2.0TDI (BKD engine) exclusively on shell (not Vpower) I'm currently using small brand (ESSAR) petrol whilst not a supermarket fuel im aware it is not up there with premium brands.. but all seems fine so far. https://www.petrolprices.com/brands/essar/
  22. Alls well that ends well😀
  23. Hi Colin, youre lad is very lucky a 2019 A tfsi, Not too shabby for a second car! mine was a £400 Fiat Strada 😁
