The UK 9.5 doesn't come either a spare,it doesn't even have a jack☹️

My Audi dealer thinks the wheel was refurbished prior to my ownership. They have no record of it been done by them. A local alloy wheel specialist has advised the cracking is probably a result of poor preparation prior to the paint/ laquer application. I'll have get the wheel refurbished properly.

Towing with b9.5 Teknik tdi 35 saloon(UK)

Hi Paul I've only towed once so far and to be honest I can't remember. However I'm away in the van in a weeks time so I will answer all your questions on my return. Cheers Pete -
Cheers for the info. Belkin are cheap compared to the £54 Audi want🤣

Can anyone advise where to get a short usb c to usb c cable to connect a mobile phone in the centre console on a b9.5. preferably a UK supplier. Ideally with one end having a 90° angle. I need it for android auto use. (Audi dealers sells them but at ridiculous prices.)
-
The cracking is only on one wheel. It's definitely cracking as you can feel the raised edge with your fingernail. They're the OE alloys. Audi are of the opinion that the wheel in question could have been poorly refurbished.

I usually have my car cleaned so I never get up close but yesterday I cleaned it myself as I wanted to apply wheel wax. I was shocked to find these cracks in the wheels finish. As you can see it's not been subjected to kerbing or damage and so far it's only one wheel. Has anyone else come across this?

I found this under the front n/s seat of my 2020 b9.5. It's approx dia is 35mm. Does anyone know where it's from? (Only recent work was I had a towbar fitted a couple of months ago)

If anyone has concerns about towing with an A4 b9.5 I've just completed my first towing trip. Contrary to some online posts I've found it an excellent tow car. The car is fitted with a Westfalia detachable tow bar with dedicated electrics and It towed my caravan at a full 1400kg load with no issues. The van was sensibly loaded, the tyres are the OE spec Michelin 225/50 94H set at the full load pressure given on the door post sticker and the nose weight was set at 70kg. I towed on motorways, A roads & back lanes. I can't comment on wind deflection as the wasn't much about but it was stable enough when overtaking or been overtaken by HGVs. (My previous tow car was a VW Passat TDI 2.0)

Martyn W Good to hear from someone who has actually used the space saver on the front and confirmed it fits ok. There's a lot of anecdotal posts floating around saying it didn't 👍

Thanks for the replies. Ref requested info. The shock was replaced by my Audi main dealer with an OE item. The tyres are Michelin Primacy, ranging from 4-6 mm of tread and no uneven wear pattern. My driving style can be very enthusiastic at times. I've switched from comfort to dynamic mode. Changed the pressures from the comfort setting of 33f,30r to the standard 38f, 35r. It did give an improvement. Today visited my Audi dealer, Swansway Garage at Crewe. They were very good and with no notice arranged for a technician to go out with me and he drove the car. His opinion is it that didn't feel any different to others of the same model he drives on a regular basis. Everything was OK in his opinion. He asked me what my previous car was? A Passat high line 2.0tdi 190. He went on to say that he'd worked for most of the VAG marques and that the Passat was a "drivers car" but in his honest opinion my 2020 A4 b9.5 TDI 35 is not. It's a comfy small exec milemuncher. He's right of course, I was taking the A4 out of its comfort zone and was expecting too much. (My Passat had 235/40 low profiles, virtually nobody roll and could corner as though on rails) I expected the same, but the A4 is adequate until pushed hard. If I wanted one to chuck around he recommends the S4. I still love the car, just a case of driving it within it's limits (I bought the car in January and on the test drive we had cold frosty conditions so I never pushed it too hard) NB my shortlist prior to purchase consisted of the Jaguar XE, Mercedes C220d, BMW 320d series and another Passat.

I've had my 2020 A4 b9.5 diesel 2.0 35 for 4 months, it's an Audi approved used and fitted with the standard 225/50 R17 tyres. On LH bends, even gentle ones the oversteer is very noticeable the front end is tucking in and the rear feels like it wants to turn out. On RH bends theres a slight understeer and and the car can be cornered much faster with no issues. (I'm running the lower"comfort" tyre pressures at present). Please note, this is on UK roads driving on the left. I've had several people drive the car and they've experienced the same issue so I'm confident it's not my driving style. Has anyone had similar issues? My Audi dealer advised that on the pre sale inspection one of the rear shock absorber was replaced . Maybe they should have changed both?
-
Not really an issue. If you get a front puncture, jack a back wheel and replace it with the spacesaver, then replace the flat front with the full size good wheel. It's a bit more faffing around but probably adds no more than 5-10 mins to the wheel change👍
-
Hi Sean I store the jack and extendable wheel brace in a strong fabric bag which velcro's to the boot carpet, there's not too much room under the spacesaver widthwise. If you wanted to store in the boot I think the fitted plastic storage box between the rear seats and the spacesaver could be replaced for one from a b8 or early b9 which I believe has space for a jack. If one comes up on eBay I may consider it. In the LLL parts UK manufacturers diagram it's listed as number 5. Cheers Peter

I just bought the wheel only for £169 as I already had a suitable jack. It's supposed to fit any b9 variant as the rolling radius of the 17, 18 & 19" wheels are virtually the same. There may (or not) be issues on front brake caliper clearance so best to fit to the rear wheels replacing a flat front with a good rear.
-
Hi Sean Wheel arrived and fits OK👍 It's a 19" but it has the same rolling radius as the 17" wheels My only slight concern is that it's resting on the battery cables, so as shown in the photos as a temporary fix I've cut up a few pieces of carpet which are now taking the weight. Will get some hard foam for a permanent fix (if the factory under wheel foam takes the weight I might source one of those) Note - you have to junk the tyre gunk and compressor container
-
Hi Sean Your boot looks exactly the same as mine. I've got a brand new spacesaver on order from the "Wheel shop" it should arrive on Monday, I will let you know how (and if) it fits. 👍 I'd also say you have the b9. The b8 wasn't an MHEV car.

Apologies for the incomplete above post, the link I'm referring to is been treated as spam (it's not) but it is not being accepted. You should be able to get to read it by googling "a dream come true my audi a4 2.0 tfsi 27 April 2022"

The attached link is to a review of the facelifted A4 b9.5 MHEVwritten by an owner in India. In addition to being one of the best reviews I've ever read on the car, the review reveals his car has an Audi fitted spacesaver wheel (and answers the above question 👍

Cheers Trevor Parts numbers really helpful Pete👍👍

Cheers Trevor I'll go back to Crewe Audi and ask them why they can't do the same for my Car? Any chance of posting a photo of the installation that I can shove in their face? 🤣 Pete
