Problem solved - I found it and with the help of a coat hanger, bit of elbow grease and a torch. Managed to reach through an opening in the engine tray and got it after pushing it around a bit. Thanks for the help in the meantime!

Hi Gareth, This is the conundrum - Sorting out transport. Would Audi Liverpool usually have to order them in? If so, what is the usual turnaround time for this? Thanks for the reply, Matt

Hi all, Regrettably, I have lost my oil filler cap on my AUDI Q2 35 TFSI. I was topping the oil up and stupidly put the cap down on the engine only to watch it roll off and go into the engine bay. I wasn't far from home so decided to drive back (3 mins away) and would inspect further. Got home and realised there are large holes in the engine tray and I can no longer see the oil filler cap - best guess is it's fallen out... In the midst of this I have had a warning come up on the cars computer saying that I am limited to 4000rpm. I'm assuming this is to do with the now-missing cap as it seems too coincidental? Either way, I have to get to work on Monday so I am trying to find a replacement. However, it appears that they aren't that easy to spot. Does anyone know which cap I would need? All of the websites I've checked state that that particular cap won't fit my engine after putting my reg details in. I am now looking on AudiPartsDirect.co.uk which I'm sure will have it, but each one says "Fits various models" without saying exactly which ones. Urgent help needed please, if you can! Thanks, Matt
