  1. Well now, its true, some Audi spares are relatively expensive and some are outrageously expensive. Also true is there is often a supply issue, (not in stock) and despite clicking the (let me know when in stock) link, no stock remains the default situation. I am told by an reliable Audi main dealer that Audi are not the best at releasing parts specifications for aftermarket suppliers. As an Audi owner who won't buy any other manufacturer it is very frustrating. Recently replaced my complete clutch including dual mass flywheel, in my A6 C7 Avant 2016 reg, with gritted teeth off i went to my local main dealer who kindly gave me aprx 10% discount. All directly supplied parts were LUK. But wow, Audi don't make it easy for owners to do their own repairs. Mammoth task to even take the gearbox out. Quotes for the job errrrrrrrrr yes. But a few said (no we can't do) others only offering an estimate with (can't give an exact quote) dealer saying its a two day job. So, overalls on, i got on with it. Time not an issue being retired and not needing the car every day, (bus pass at the ready) Impromised " the special tools" needed. Job done.
  2. hi Victer, I bought an OBD diagnostic kit about three years ago. FOXWELL make. My one is the Foxwell NT 6X4 Elite . Cost about £150. Comes in a nice molded box with all the necessary adapters. not the cheapest on the market but wow its brilliant. Does everything and more for practically every car manufacturer. Even programs new keys, reprogams replacement car parts. Regular updates are free unlike lots of others. I have helped other people several times with other car makes, even been offered money for diagnosing but never accepted the offers. cheers
  3. just spotted this forum so thought i would join in the thread. hello everyone. I own a A6 Avant Ultra C7 2016 which has been a brilliant motor. Bought it four years ago. Although i don't do much mileage it has now done 83ooo Recently had clutch problems so decided to put a complete new clutch in. Not an easy job, but gearbox is now out. Discovered the dual mass flywheel is very poorly. Bought the new clutch assembly and slave/release unit, (not a cheap thing) can't seem to get after sales ones. So this morning i have ordered a new DMF ( wow the price, is it made of gold) So, my point is,, (sorry to be a bit of a bore) i think i will give it some new gearbox oil. Hence, what type of oil ?
