  1. So I’ve just seen an Audi specialist in my local area regarding a very feint clicking noise come from full lock either way but only when trying to park. At first the diagnosis was a new steering rack as it had some play. This was replaced (luckily it was covered under a third party warranty). The noise is still there! The garage has checked everything multiple times and cannot fault anything. Does anyone else notice this on their car? The car drives and steers perfectly by the way. This is a well known VAG specialist in my area so you could say a trusted garage that know what they are on about. What do you suggest I should do? Carry on as normal and live with it?
  2. Is it intermittent? I had this knocking noise issue recently and it turned out to be the lower rear arm bush. I had those replaced with the PowerFlex bushes and now the noise is gone.
  3. Good start to the weekend 😊
  4. That’s a fair point Gareth. I just took John’s comment about checking for head gasket literally. That’s great news John! I must say you got that pressure test booked in quick!
  5. Hi Gareth. Apologies my spelling isn’t the best. I did mean tyre. I am from the UK but have previously lived in the US. So my brother (lives in US) has a 2019 e-tron and he has a tyre pressure table in his manual. He sent me a picture for the numbers for 19 inch alloys as he has these. You are correct in that most cars now have it on the sticker to be fair.
  6. Not that I know of. I would stick to OEM and avoid aftermarket ones as they are even worse. Looks like something we have to live with I’m afraid. Let me know how you get on when you get this resolved/ checked.
  7. No problem. Are your under trays damp at all? Worth checking those too. When coolant dries it can leave a white crust so check around the engine bay for any signs of that.
  8. Usually if you are leaking coolant you’d see excess water vapour coming out the exhaust. Sometimes the water pump can fail and the coolant gets burned off before it can settle on the ground. Worth getting the thermostat and water pump checked. The water pump isn’t great and can fail literally every 5 years or so. If you take it to a garage and ask for the coolant pressure test. That will clear up whether it’s a head gasket issue and they’ll be able to trace the leak.
  9. Hi John. So when did you last have the waterpump and thermostat housing replaced? Are you getting “white smoke” or steam out the exhausts?
  10. Audi A4 B9 owner. First car was a MK5 Golf and been VAG ever since!
  11. The owners manual says 39 psi front and 36 psi rear for normal load (driver). Owners manual says 41 psi is for a fully loaded vehicle and that is the number on the tire inflation sticker. These aren’t for the super low profile tyres like yours though.
  12. By water are you referring to coolant?
  13. Apparently the timing chain should last the lifetime of the vehicle. I’ve spoken to various dealerships and some have said 180k, 140k. My local specialist said it should last the lifetime of vehicle as long as you keep servicing and changing oil on time. No reason to change it. Not sure on the clutch though.
