I'll have to fix that sponge sealant whatever it is around the inside of the lamp. What I don't get is how sponge is used as a sealant.

A new unit? The unit is surely okay and it's the connector that needs replaced, maybe?

I got some cleaner in it and it seemed that when I put the cover back on it looked like the bulb was working as it looked like there was a reaction but it doesn't glow. Just a very dim red light. Any suggestions on next step? I did also notice the foam around the inside of the cover was out of position so I can glue that back into place.

Hi everyone Started getting rear light / fog light warning, tried to put a new bulb in and it made no difference. I'm now getting reverse light and brake light warnings for the same side. Note when I did open the compartment first time around there was moisture in it and very little water came out. Also I've attached photo of what I've seen on the connector. Can this be cleaned etc? Or bigger job? Thanks in advance folks.
