  1. You couldn't make it up could you. I have had no issues thankfully so, I think I will give the update a miss.
  2. Not heard anything as of yet
  3. Thanks Sam - that is good to know
  4. Happy to report that the temperature this morning was 5 deg C. Heated wing mirrors worked as they are supposed to. So it does look like the Instruction manual is correct and they are dependent upon the ambient temperature. Minimum of 5 deg C appears to be the start point.
  5. Hi Jan, No is an automatic
  6. I have a 24 model A3 Black edition 1.5 petrol - I have not had this issue at all.
  7. Indeed they did, I had a Mk1 and a Mk2 Ford Escort back the day and both had wing mirrors on the wings !
  8. This is my strategy too. I am waiting for the colder weather to see if they clear. They do not clear water droplets caused by condensation overnight.
  9. They're lazy Mick, it takes a bit longer to set the car up manually than it does with the laptop. I believe the issue lies in how the laptop sets up the MMI that causes all these issues. I have told Audi customer services this and they agree with me and have sent a memo out to the dealers to set the car up manually.
  10. Hi Karen, Just do a manual reset back to factory settings and reinstall yourself as the key user. Make sure you use the code off the scratch card they gave you. Doesn't take long. If your phone won't connect wirelessly to the car switch off the WiFi and connect using Bluetooth. The option to connect via WiFi will appear, just press yes and it will connect. Cheers
  11. 10 minute job once they got hold of the correct parts
  12. thanks Gareth
  13. Hi everyone, quick question, my new A3 black edition is supposed to have heated wing mirrors as standard equipment. I have tried to use them a couple of times to clear fogged up wing mirrors and nothing appears to happen ? I have checked the manual and it says "dependent upon ambient temperature? for operation. Is there a minimum temperature it has to be for them to operate ? thanks
  14. Just had Audi Financial Services on and for my inconvenience in regards to the MMI issue I am getting a payment of £700 ex gratia. As the car is working now I have decided to accept it. There is a new software update due in December and if the car's software is not upgraded by end of January they will revisit this again. Cheers
  15. Yes Mick is correct a soft reset will not fix this issue you must restore back to factory settings and reinstall your data. You must use the code on the scratch off card they give you when you picked up the car. It must be done manually and not on a laptop at the dealership.
  16. I bought 4 themes and have not had any issues. Even while I was losing my radio favourites, for some odd reason the theme was retained.
  17. Quick update: 2nd week from factory reset completed - no issues to report on the MMI
  18. Yep tested that myself - the screens reset to default when you turn off the engine. It's normal for it to do this apparently. I probably don't notice because I leave them on date and time anyway.
  19. Don't do it via a lap top, do it manually and use the code on the card they give you.
  20. Switch off your WiFi on the car and try reconnecting via Bluetooth. It should connect and then give an instruction "Do you want to activate WiFi Connection" or words to that effect. Then select yes and you should be good to go.
  21. Hi Everyone, a quick introduction here. In June I picked up a new A3 TFSI S Line Black Edition in Ascari blue. After a few minor quality issues I am now extremely happy with my purchase. Not going to bore everyone with the minute details but I had to deal with: 1. Loose number plate on the rear (Dealer fitted wrong clips) 2. Wrong puddle lights (no Audi rings) had to go back twice as they fitted exactly the same (incorrect lights) on the first visit 3. MMI software problems (settings not being saved) more on this in a separate post. We think we have solved the problem.
  22. Yes, its the manual radio on/of button on the console next to start/stop button for the engine. (Sorry no pics) Press and hold the top sector of the button only for 15 seconds and then let go. Cheer
  23. Indeed you are going to find more European cars with nanny state features whose default setting is "on" every time you start the car.
  24. Y
  25. Gordon, If it is done on the laptop you will still have issues. You need to do it manually and use the code off the card they give you.
