  1. I'm referring to the heatshields between the the engine and the front subframe. This guy points to it about halfway through the video.
  2. I took my rear lower arms off to change out the bushes for polybushes, in order to get the bolt out I had to reshape the heatshield. That was fine on the passenger side, but on the drivers side I forgot to bend it back into shape and it was pressing up against the steering column, caused a lot of grinding and bound the steering up a bit but was all fixed when I bent the shield back out. May be worth a look.
  3. I've felt the effects of ABS and of warped discs. ABS will shudder the car but you feel it quite aggressively through the brake pedal not the steering. A warped disc will cause the steering wheel to wobble and stop wobbling when you come off the brakes.
  4. Could be warped/overheated discs.
  5. Looking on line a lot of 2016 TDi cars are coming up with 308bhp or 320bhp. Can I ask where you're getting 340bhp as standard from?
  6. I've seen batteries with a weak cell drop to under 9volts when cranking but if the new battery is ok then I'd wonder if the starter motor is faulty/jamming causing the power drain.
  7. I think it's 8K0959591B and look's like it's identical to the one that controls the sunblind. 8K9898057 is for the bolts that hold it in.
  8. I believe the part number is 8K2857409AJ
  9. Bit of a bump but having been considering a remap on my own 3.0TDi I stumbled here. After a bit of googling at this Chip Express I wouldn't go there, it's a box that hooks in between the fuel pressure sensor and the ECU. So all it's going to do is fudge the signal to increase/decrease the fuel pressure as it see's fit. A proper remap (Revo, Celtic, Darkside, Bluefin, etc) alters the fuel map, boost regulation, shift points, etc based on the ACTUAL data sent from the cars sensors, it does not remove any of the safeguards and doesn't fudge signals that the ECU relies on.
  10. It was getting depressingly expensive, was modified a bit and pushing 295bhp but a bad back meant I needed something a little bit taller to get in and out of comfortably. I had a 1990 Granada Scorpio 2.9 auto, and yeah, that was also stuck in the mid to high twenties, and fuel was two thirds the price it is now 🤣
  11. If it's any help I got this one for my 2015, same as Audi dealers use. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32990082745.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.28.53801802WFhJmF
  12. Had my new (to me) Q5 for a couple of months now and thought I'd sign up having found forums very useful with my previous cars. 2015 Q5 Mk1 facelift with a 3.0TDi S-Line Plus..... Still learning lots as this is my first Audi after spending the last 9 years with a Mk4 Ford Mondeo 2.5t, but I have managed to make a few modifications to her already including - OBDEleven module so I've activated Drive Select with additional modes, fog/cornering lights and gauge sweep. Interior LED light swap. Carplay unit from AliExpress so I can have Android Auto again. Front and Reversing camera's which link into the above unit. Rear armrest from a Q7 so I could get the integrated cup holders, was surprised it was a direct swap. Retrofitted footwell lights front and rear. Retrofitted the active door warning lights and puddle lights. Nice set of alloy pedal covers that match the Mrs' Skoda Enyaq's. RamAir airfilter. Botslab G980H front and rear dashcam from Amazon. And an adjustable dipstick as I'm stuck in my ways 😁
  13. New here and probably a bit late for a reply, but if it helps. I've had my 2015 3.0TDi (241bhp) for nearly 8 weeks now and with predominantly short trips (1-5miles each way) and a couple of slightly longer ones on dual carriageways I've averaged 36.6mpg. Coming from a 2008 Mondeo 2.5t that would average about 18mpg on the same runs I'm over the moon with it.
