Thank you, Gareth and Clifford for those excellent suggestions. I have tried local garages which have “older” mechanics on the basis that they’re more likely to be able to do work that doesn’t need a computer to tell them what to do and although they’ve seemed quite keen they simply don't come back to me. I’m seriously thinking of selling it ‘as is’ but that would mean that I wouldn’t have chance to play. I loved driving that car, it brings back happy memories too. -

I have a 1985 Audi coupe Quattro which has been restored but has been SORN-ed and kept in my garage since before the pandemic. I need to sell it, but think that I would like to get it back on the road and enjoy it for a while first. I live near Scarborough and can’t find a garage willing to help me. Any ideas how I can get my lovely old car back on the road? Preferably without breaking the bank.
