  1. Its a "Becker" (I think!)
  2. One picture (162932) showing the connector which could fit in the amplifier, with the loop fitted and the other picture (162951) shows the pin flashing red. I got brave and plugged it in to the Amp and absolutely nothing happened - blank screen! I will watch the video you have kindly sent later. I do have an issue with water - the rear window seal above the quarter panel is damaged and the sound proofing in the well of where all of these gizmos live is damp. Lol - the washer bottle does empty itself, but I have no smell of washer fluid in that area.
  3. I had a look in the rear panel and yes, there is the amplifier. There is one large connector, held in place with the clip and......... There is a socket on the Amp for a connector, but no connector visible. I have found two brown wires, with a connector which could fit the amp, but, they are currently connected together with what looks a professional loop loom. When I disconnected this, one of the pins started flashing red at me. I decided that the car is haunted and put the connector back in lol. I'm going to have a better look, as there are a few bolts missing - as if the whole rack has been removed and there is a connector hooked down the back of everything. I have an Amp arriving on Wednesday.....
  4. So, I am going through the MMI/Audio issues which I have. The car has the following fitted: Sat Nav - map shows, directions on screen no audio. CD Multichanger - loads CD's and changes Cd's. No audio - CD's won't play. Radio - Its receiving station signals. No audio. I have changed the MMI control in the centre console and have more functions than I had at the start of this journey. Could the issue lie with the amplifier? TIA.
  5. I've just downloaded the A6 manual from here. Very quick.
  6. Didn't buy from a dealer, so that's not really an option. Paid very little for the car, so, along with everyone one else in our beautiful country, I'm looking for the cheapest fix available, so an android head unit would be the way to go. Will this "talk" to the multi-control in the centre console (I have tried to buy a manual but they are currently not available) or would that become redundant? The Sat Nav unit in the rear compartment loads the DVD nicely and appears to work and I've got my fingers crossed that the CD Multichanger in the glovebox will step up to the mark when requested. I have discovered (in the three days and 500 miles), that the heater control console appears to be reversed - i.e: I select a change with the drivers heat and it comes as the passenger side is being adjusted! Add to that, there is no blower fan and no massive change in heat I think somebodies been in there and managed to cross connections. I'm off to Nottingham tonight, back Tuesday, so I've got Wednesday & Thursday free to rummage about.
  7. Driving the new (to me) wheels home today, the MMI screen developed lines vertically, which eventually went and the screen exhibited all the signs of a Top of the Pops episode. I haven't been able to get any sounds from it (radio or CD) and of course I can't utilise all of the other features and adjustments. So, my questions are: #1. Is it worth trying to trace the issue & where's the best place to start? #2. Is there a plug and play Android head unit suitable for a 2007 Allroad Quattro 2.7TDI? I don't really want to play parts darts as the costs can get out of hand very quickly. I look forward to your responses/thoughts. TIA
  8. So Hi, just signed on too this merry go round lol. Picked up a 2007 A6 Allroad Quattro 2.7TDI today. Nice bit of kit. I'll be looking at a few problems which I have and hopefully I will enjoy the car and it's capabilities.
