Yes Steve,
All what you say is not only possible but highly probable.
Just maybe, part of the problem is the old, ‘divide and conquer’ ruling. Why is it we (the UK) are so wrapped up in regionalising (dividing) of our opinions that we are missing the bigger picture. All for one, one for all. If, for example you ask just two people for an opinion there is big chance they are going to disagree. Therefore, if you ask 60 million people the same question that equation would not even be 50/50.
Personally, I feel that the downfall of our country, as a whole, is that it is not a whole. Rather, it is too regionalised, even down to the north/south divide on matters such as the weather……..I mean, come on, how is that someone born in the south of our country is somehow inferior to someone born in the north of our country. It is, after all, our country, all of ours north, south, east, & west. I think some people especially throughout the EU call it the island mentality. There was no disparity when we, our country, fought to defend itself during the 1st & 2nd world wars. I don’t expect we had those conversations in the trenches that measured a mans worth depending on where he was born or what was the weather was at home where he came from. Get over yourselves!!
And do you know why?
WE HAVE NO LEADERS> Whatever your political persuasion. There is no-one to lead us. Which is why we will always be weak when there are so many political parties wanting a slice of our cake. There will never be any cohesion when we are constantly divided.
