  1. Thanks Steve. I’ve been belly-aching about whether the ascari blue was the right choice but as the night wears on I’m getting happier with it. I just had to have that rotor grey leather and grey door cards. The all black interior was too claustrophobic for my liking.
  2. Well, I’ve only gone and been and done it. Small deposit paid on a Q7 Vorsprung 55 TFSI at Lincoln Audi. Car is in Ascari blue with rotor grey leather. I came within a whisker of going for the same deal on a Chilli red with black leather at Stafford Audi, but I just had to have the grey leather. Black is more practical I know but it just doesn’t do it for me. In all honesty I much prefer the red but to get red with grey leather would mean ordering from the factory, waiting 12 weeks or more and not getting such a good trade in on my Kodiaq. I managed to negotiate £15k off the list price and a free GuardX treatment I don’t quite know why I’m feeling so edgy and nervous about it lol. Here’s some pics just for the heck of it. Car has just arrived in stock so not been through PDI or prepped. I’ve asked them to supply dealer fitted wind deflectors and mud guards front & rear. I’m a vaper so need to have the windows open a crack and could do without water dribbling in off the roof, hence the wind deflectors, and mud guards to help to minimise road card getting thrown up the side of the car and I like how they look on an SUV. Back in the good old TT owners club/forum days we used to laugh at mud guards and anyone who got them was immediately ridiculed for fitting f*nny flaps but that was on a ‘sports’ (ahem) car. it’ll be good to be back in an Audi. I just hope I’m not unlucky with repair costs down the line as I plan on keeping the car long long term. It’s a complicated vehicle with many things that can go expensively wrong so fingers crossed I suppose. These pics aren’t the best as they are screen shots from the dealer video but they give the general idea.
  3. Yes I did look at that and I would have joined the E club but I’d lose the 3rd row of seats and I really want that option
  4. Well, I can update this much……. I’ve decided against diesel. It’s just too fraught with additional dangers especially since I don’t do a lot of motorway driving and I’m pretty sure our dear old ‘friend’ Mr Khan is going to do evil things to diesel owners sooner or later here in London. We already have two tier park g charges in parts of London, with even higher fees for diets cars than any others. I also reckon that so get all the spec I need I’m probably better off with a Vorsprung, BUT, I’m more tan. A little concerned that these cone with 22” wheels which isn’t of itself an issue to me but these have tyres with a 35 profile which surely is just too low profile for a car of this size and weight and is a lose way see forging if slight contact should be made with a kerb and in particular a pot hole
  5. Thanks Steve, appreciated
  6. Now, I know from 18 years past experience in a MK1 TTV6 that the words Audi and economy rarely feature together in any sentence that doesn’t also include many expletives, but…….. I’m currently in a late 2023 Škoda Kodiaq L&K 2l TSI, but am seriously considering swapping into a brand new Q7 50 Tdi MHEV Black Edition. I’ve never owned or run a diesel before so it’d be whole new caper for me. Can you folk please advise and help me out to better understand the following …. 1. Realistically, what sort of MPG can I actually expect to see around town, combined, and on a long motorway run out of this 50 Tdi Mhev? I know the figures Audi quote but I’m no sucker for all that guff. I’m used to driving conservatively to save fuel BTW. 2. Would I need to use premium diesel or isnthere no real benefit over the regular? 3. What sort of oil consumption can I expect? 4. Addblue. I’ve literally zero knowledge or experience of it. How much does the stuff cost, how big is the addblue tank and how long does it last? 5. Never had any sort of electric or Hybrid car. Only ever petrol, so far. What does MHEV do and how does it work in terms of adding economy? all and any responses or other general advice and opinions will be gladly received
