  1. Thanks that’s good advice
  2. I'm hoping its the latter new brakes and discs are about £1200-1595, don't ideally want to be shelling out for this too Was hoping for at least a couple of years of trouble free motoring Audi are saying they need replacing at 9mm Audi dealer experience has been very poor to say the least
  3. I've bought an approved used Q8 50 tdi, had it 2 months, apparently after a health check it looks like my pads are down to 12mm, apparently they're recommended changed at 9mm so 3mm left. The car does no more than 2500 miles a year, how much life could there be left in these pads? I've been told there's a lip developing in the disc too, not really sure myself. I know both jobs (discs and pads) are quite expensive, the independents for some reason charging about 50% more than the main dealer! I think its because they're actually sourcing the parts from the dealers or so I've been told. Not sure if it's worth taking up with the supplying main dealer?
  4. Is there a reliable seller? especially someone not on eBay? They look like they’re in the 35-45 pound ballpark for a piece of plastic, seems a bit exorbitant?
  5. It’s the plastic insert in the car chassis that a Jack fits into, I’ve never had a car where these need replacing
  6. Hi All, is there a good cheap source for rear Jack inserts as they seem quite pricey direct from Audi?
  7. Hi All, I've got a Q8 where the pop out side sunshade for one of the rear doors has a a bad crease in it it looks like the corner of the fabric has come away from the metal frame. is there a way to fix this easily as Audi want to replace the entire unit at £600 inc fitting which seems pretty exorbitant? Has anyone else had the same problem and managed to fix it? Is there a car interior fabric/upholster that may be able to help? Would appreciate some help. Huge thanks, AA
  8. is there anywhere closer to bradford/leeds? I can vouch for Chris Umpleby he's VERY good but not cheap. Moorfield in Yeadon, but never used them? Anyone with a tdi SQ8?
  9. Hi Cliff, Thanks for this, I've contacted a handful of independents, ones got a really solid reputation and a very nice guy by all accounts, but he charges pretty much the same as what the main Audi dealer does, so just doesn't make sense. On the other end of the scale is a guy that can't be bothered to even ring you back with a quote, despite calling him twice, so don't want to take it there, I can't imagine what he'd be like to deal with if there's a problem! Quote from main dealer is £344 and I think £548 (don't quote me, got a load of numbers in my head!) I was under the assumption an independent would be a lot cheaper? So still need to find a reputable one and determine what sensible costs should be. Cheers, Steve
  10. Hi All, Could I please ask where the best place with cost effectiveness in mind is to service an SQ8 diesel and how much it should ideally cost. I'm a prospective new owner based in WY (happy to travel sensibly), not yet taken ownership, would like some help and pointers please. I'd really appreciate your help. Vbw, AA
