  1. there is no track for the black and white wire in the bulb holder lol
  2. Ive had a look at the wires from the plug. see photo attached. 1. Brown, 2. Blue, 3. Blue and 4. black and white, but the black and white is basically redundant as there is no pin in the connecter or relative rail
  3. no the other bulb isnt working either 😞 ok so does that mean i need to geound to both of them?
  4. Sorry, i switch the lights on, they flash twice and then get a bulb error on my dash and lights go off
  5. Hey All! I have the dreaded rear light issue. I have tried cleaning tge contacts on the plug and housing. Ive tried the ground wire bypass but im not sure if im doing it right. I split the ground wire before the plug, then connect a new wire to that. Then run a wire and connect it to the (what i think) is the ground rail on the unit. Can someone advise if im using the correct ground pin as per photo. Im pulling my hair out!! Please see attached photo if my housing and the rail im using.
  6. You sir are an absolute legend! Will take on the advice and do that tomorrow, will revert once completed
  7. what is the BEM unit? I think the battery might be underpowered/failing as its only showing at 60%? If a fault is vintage can it be repaired? Battery make is a Goliath brand (Not familiar with battery brands at all) and Im not sure if previous owner coded it or not 😞

  9. thanks for the reply Steve. I do want VCDS, its just the initial outlay of funds that is a problem right now. So looking at either of these two. Question about the credits etc... do you need to purchase them in order to use the device to its full capability (or at least to what i want it to do)?
  10. Hi All. Recently bought a 08 A6 Avante. Loving it so far, i sorted out my MMI issue by bypassing the phone module which decided to go for a swim. A couple other things I need doing which all require some sort of coding/hidden menu access, will list what I want to do below and then the 2 options I am looking at. Any info would be greatly appreciated. 1. Bought an AMI, as I understand it might need some code change in order to work. 2. New battery ordered, need to register it in order to change charging etc... 3. PDC (Rear only) I want to enable the visual display 4. General error code diag and clearing/sorting out. I am looking at either of the following: 1. Carista Evo 2. OBDEleven I have very limited experience with these devices/procedures but am a well versed tech guy so figuring it out wont be difficult. If anyone could point me in the right direction or offer alternatives, I would highly appeciate it. and finally, this forum has been amazing for me for the past 2 weeks with sorting out teething issues, best A6 C6 content ive come across!
  11. Yeah i have followed OP instructions, found the cylinders, but I cant seem to see/have access to the drain to clear it?
  12. Apologies, the drains that are below the cylinders as per OP post, woke up this morning to a flooded rear passenger footwell. And when i check where OP suggested its full of water
  13. How do i gain access to the drains? i cant seem to figure it out
  14. Just done the check on the amp in the boot, and there is no optical light coming on in the connector... would getting the optical bypass solve the issue?
  15. where are you located Please.
