  4. Hi Uzair...welcome to the Forum That does seem odd, because if the wiring powers up an aftermarket stereo then the power supply is the same and therefore okay. The only thing I can think of is if the standard stereo has a security feature (coded) and the aftermarket doesn't? Also, check if there is a small fuse at the back of the stereo.   8. Hopefully the new mount should get rid of the noise, if not I could only assume with the excessive engine movement that a joint (intake, exhaust) has been dislodged slightly enough for it to make the sound
  9. Hi David....welcome to the Forum I would imagine a low idle speed is nothing more than the induction system being clogged up with carbon. Probably best to run some cleaning additives through the engine to clean it out. More efficient than that is TerraClean treatment http://www.terraclean.co.uk/ which should really sort it out.   10. I would see if the noise is still there once you have replaced the mount, but I suspect it will be gone
  11. Bearings do not tend to show wear nowadays, unlike the old fashioned taper roller type bearing. However, if a bearing is worn is should 'grumble' when rotated but you can't really simulate it as there is no load on the bearing when jacked up...so no real way of telling if it's knackered apart from obvious movement due to wear. You could turn the radio up! sorry, couldn't resist that.

Was just reading an article about the rollercoaster (which I have to see looks very cool running through the building) and it said that the whole of that building was planned to be a theme park and the rollercoaster was to be the fastest one on the planet. It opened for four days and they went bankrupt. So the new owners are looking to remove and scrap the rollercoaster and just concentrate on racing. I do believe they make good money with track days, etc and the same with Spa...whereas Le Mans don't really do much when there's no events on so they have to extract as much money from the punters when there is a race event on. I'm sure you will love Spa, especially doing a track day event...keep us updated on it when you do go Cheers Trevor

  14. Hi John...welcome to the Forum Difficult one really as could be virtually anything causing poor starting. I would look at fuel filter & housing as if its drawing air that could be one reason. Also, check the Coolant Temperature Sensor (CTS) and especially the connector and the wiring going to it, because if that's giving the wrong reading it would affect starting.   15. Try this fix to see if it works for your car. Also, another area to check is where the plug attaches to the heater blower unit....switch the ignition on with the blower switched on and wiggle the plug and see if powers up, if so then it could be a loose connection on the terminals.

  17. I believe the current (amps) will change with the blower speed but not the voltage. I would pull the power feed fuse to the unit and test the resistance with a multimeter to see if it changes with blower speed settings.

  20. Usually you will have to programme the infra-red side of things with VAG COM or similar. There is a procedure for resetting after battery replacement which involves pressing the buttons in sequence with the key in the door lock.
  21. It's a difficult one as I used to own a Nissan X-Trail and this had the same issue. Read some posts on forums, all saying the same thing...tyres! Changed my tyres, noise went. Sometimes they lay new road surface which although improves grip by adding certain compounds to the mix but also leads to increased road noise. I think if it was me I would try a few different road surfaces (that you don't normally travel on) to see if it changes or disappears before throwing wheel bearings at it. If still no joy then try to diagnose when the noise disappears (e.g. turning left or right) which should determine which bearing is faulty

Hi Andy I absolutely love the Nurburgring as went to watch the WEC 6 Hours there...loads better than Le Mans, not corporate, sit where you want, beer was only 5 euro not 9 euro at Le Mans...would definitely go there again. Spa...what can I say! Probably my favourite circuit for all the reasons as Nurburgring but also a genuine grass-roots motorsport feel to the circuit. Loads of places to watch the action and if you're driving it....Look out for the turn at the top of Eau Rouge! One word of warning...it's located in the Ardennes which is renowned for it's own microclimate..when we first went in May, might as well have been January...incredibly cold so take some warm gear.   25. Hi Guy...welcome to the forum There may be another fuse controlling the interior fusebox and then power to the blower motor. Sometimes the motor seizes and than can lead to blowing a fuse...check any underbonnet fuseboxes. Let us know what you find. Cheers Trevor
