  1. Hi Martin...welcome to the Forum! It sounds like something like an ABS wheel sensor that could be bringing the warning light on (believe it is the wheel bearing type of sensor and if the hub nut/bolt isn't tightened up correctly, this can affect the sensor). As for the lighting faults, not sure exactly but may have been disconnected in the process of repair and maybe not replaced correctly...but the headlamp sounds like a ballast fault. Let us know how you get on with it Regards Trevor
  2. Hi Rob...welcome to the Forum! Good luck with the purchase and look forward to seeing some piccies of it when you pick it up. Cheers Trevor
  3. Hi Westley....welcome to the Forum! That's a fine brace of Audi's that look in great condition. Look forward to reading your posts in the future Regards Trevor
  4. Hi Matt...and welcome to the Forum! Great looking car Who are you a Techy for...e.g. what make of vehicle? Looking forward to seeing the mods that you carry out in the future, Cheers Trevor
  5. Hi Craig...welcome to the Forum! Glad you're pleased with your A5...great car If you like you can add MPG tuning in the Audi Specialist list that we have started so other members in the area can know about them. Look forward to reading your posts Regards Trevor
  6. Hi Andrew...sorry to hear that your Audi is playing up...what sort of noise is it? squealing, knocking, tapping, banging?
  7. HI Paul....welcome to the Forum! It sounds like one (or more) of the brake pads is slightly sticking in the carrier and not returning. Alternatively, if they are not worn excessively, take them out and put compound on the contacting metal parts. If they are worn and need replacing shortly then I would replace them with quality pads. Let us know how you get on with it Regards Trevor
  8. Nice one...that's useful to know and great link for anyone else with this problem. Cheers, Trevor
  9. Hi Jordan That's tough luck...been there before with Land Rover regulators that I rebuilt with cheap rebuild kits (cables, etc) but generally when you fit a complete assembly they are usually pretty reliable. It looks as though the routing is fine and the tension on the glass generally would make it run a bit slower but shouldn't break the cable. Maybe use Vaseline on the edges of the glass where it contacts the runner...tends to work. I would probably take it back to the suppliers and demand a new one Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor - Admin
  10. Hi Zoe...welcome to the Forum! At that price, you would be taking a chance that it could be cheap to fix or it could be another engine...either way, I don't think you'll lose out. Even though the coil packs and plugs have been changed there is the likelihood that one of them could be faulty (from new). Good luck with it and let us know how you get on Cheers Trevor - Admin
  11. I personally love the look of it Johnny, as you say everyone has it in white. Definitely the black alloys set it of as well. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us
  12. Brake fluid should be good for at least 2 years...so no need to replace it yet. Gives you time to save up for it
  13. Hi Paul...welcome to the Forum! Great looking car...the wheels set it off nicely. Sounds like an issue with the Dual function on the Air Con system....are there any switches or lights flashing on the A/C control panel? Regards Trevor
  14. Hi Russell...welcome to the Forum! I'm not sure who there is around your area that I could recommend but I will post your request in the local specialist thread that we have just started to see if you get any recommendations. Look forward to reading your future posts and maybe even seeing photos of your new acquisition. Regards Trevor
  15. Glad you've gone for what sounds like a great car...would love to see some photos of it I wouldn't personally leave the lights on auto as being Xenon they will come on every time you go through any dimly lit area for even a short period (e.g. country lane with overhanging trees)...happens to me on my journey home in daylight and lights come on when I'm approaching a junction which looks like I'm flashing someone out.
  16. Hi Jon...welcome to the Forum! What a great looking car and also a fantastic piccy! Look forward to reading you future posts Regards Trevor
  17. Great result all round! I think I could live with cable ties also if faced with a choice of that or £236 for a new tray
  18. Ouch...thats expensive!
  19. Hi Darrell...welcome to the Forum! Wow...that looks like a great car to buy...go for it ! I'm not sure if there was a standard OE edition or whether it has aftermarket kit on it but nevertheless if it has been fitted nicely I wouldn't worry about it too much. Let us know how you get on with your purchase. Cheers Trevor
  20. Hi BrucieLee Oh dear! you do have problems. Can't think why the original control unit would throw up a 'not coded' fault. Only thought I have is when you refitted the rotary coupling for the squib was it centralised first? Otherwise I'd be tempted to reset the battery and see if it makes any difference. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers, Trevor
  21. Hi Ben...welcome to the Forum! Only advice without knowing the car is look at how it has be used, School runs, etc and also how it has been maintained....otherwise give it an extensive test drive to satisfy yourself that it is doing what it should be and there are no nasty surprises later on. Let us know how you get on with the decision Cheers Trevor
  22. Hi Paul...welcome to the Forum! Its a difficult choice...mileage & cost. I personally always look for the lowest mileage I can find for my budget and sometimes it takes a while for the right car to pop up. I therefore don't worry too much about distance traveled to buy the right car and can compromise on some options, colours, etc. Let us know how you get on Cheers Trevor
  23. Hi...and welcome to the Forum! They certainly do sound like they are made from liquorice. I prefer Michelin as very durable without compromising grip, etc Although, i think it sometimes comes down to price, e.g. who ever is doing a good deal at the time. Let us know how you get on with your decision Regards Trevor
  24. Hi Paul....welcome to the Forum! Firstly, I don't believe there is a problem buying a higher mileage car as long as the mileage is on the correct roads and traffic conditions (e.g. Motorway miles as opposed to School runs). Ideally, it will have had regular servicing (usually before the allocated time) and not much adverse wear and tear....so usually a good purchase all round. Let us know how it goes Cheers, Trevor
