  2. sounds lovely, tempted to start vaping, even though I gave up smoking 10 years ago. Good to see you back on here mate
  3. Very helpful information Steve Q LOTUSSEVEN I would probably consider more frequent fluid changes for engine, transmission and associated drivetrain components if towing for substantial periods of time. If your car was an automatic transmission I would recommend fitting a larger capacity oil cooler to avoid overheating the trans.
  4. Hi Kris...welcome to the Forum Great looking car, sorry to hear you're having problems with it. I would personally have the transmission checked over as if the noise is only occurring around 60-80mph then it suggests that it is relating to the 6th gear only. This also may have some bearing on the mpg also, although only marginally I would imagine. Let us know how you get on with this Cheers Trevor
  5. what flavour juice rbdazza.... surely not the Bio is it?
  6. Hi Nick...and welcome to the Forum Thanks for the information, very handy indeed! If it's okay with you, I will tutorialise the information and put it up in the Guides and Reviews section for all to see. Once again, thanks for sharing that very handy tip Cheers Trevor
  7. Looks like seaweed to me.....very odd !
  8. I would imagine that any deterrent is a good thing as most thieves will just move onto cars that are less secure. I was contemplating a removable steering wheel boss for my MX5 but cannot be bothered with the agro of it all really.
  9. Sounds like an excellent project and great fun
  10. Article with useful information to know for your European Road Trip http://www.drivn.co.uk/reduce-stress-risk-from-your-european-road-trip/
  11. I thought you were joking about the Rocket Science part....appears not then
  12. Here are the results from the Survey http://www.drivn.co.uk/tyre-brand-survey/
  13. Hi Fraser....welcome to the Forum Welcome also to the wonderful world of Audi, hope you're enjoying the A8 so far? Cheers Trevor
  14. HI Robert...welcome to the Forum Hard to say exactly what it is but if I had to hazard a guess I would say it could be an oxygen sensor but worth checking for an exhaust leak and/or vacuum leak in the inlet manifold area. What is the exact code? Try those areas first and have a look at the live data for the sensors to see what is changing or anything is not changing when it should do. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
  15. Not sure if this is of much help for your model of car and phone but may shed some light on the procedure
  16. Hi Chris....welcome to the Forum Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  17. Hi Archie...welcome to the Forum Great looking car with equally great looking scenery Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  18. Thanks for arranging this Steve, hopefully we can get a good number from around that area of the country. If anyone is interested in going, just post up here to say you're interested and we'll add your name to the list
  19. HI Justin I would advise keeping the tyres at the same tread depth all round to preserve the longevity of the Quattro all-wheel drive system. As Steve Q has already mentioned, probably stick to the tyres you know are durable and quiet, as long as they are a good price for four at a time. Cheers Trevor
  20. Hi Jonathan...welcome to the Forum Maybe the emissions recall has screwed things up...see posts in recalls section of this forum. Sometimes also it takes a bit of time for the engine to loosen up which can use more fuel and also driving styles which you may need to adapt from previous cars Let us know how you get on with the dealer Cheers Trevor
  21. Hi Myles...welcome to the Forum Sounds like it could be a vacuum leak...check all the rubber hoses under the bonnet for splits or even hanging off. Let us know how you get on Cheers Trevor
  22. If the oil light came on and it stopped and won't turn over...it sounds like the engine has seized. Let us know what the garage finds wrong
  23. Great news!....glad to hear a good news story every so often
  24. secondhand should be fine as should reconditioned units. I think there may be some English run garages nearby, worth checking as these will be cheaper and a lot quicker than the French garages (sorry, sounds bad but I used to live in France and I know how they work...or not as the case may be). Keep us updated Julia
