  1. I would imagine there are some electronic Workshop Manuals for sale online which may help you with the rebuild....try eBay, they always have stacks of them on there. Answers to your questions are: The immobiliser would be linked in with the remote key fob (if you have one) and this should disable the immobiliser. There may be a way of switching off the immobiliser with the key but not too sure. If it is a chunky type of key then there is usually a very small cylindrical chip inside which is the immobiliser chip and this is read by a reader which is a plastic assembly around the ignition barrel. If it matches up, the engine runs. So, firstly I would check the type of key (or post up a piccy of it here) and if you have the remote fob type then you may need to programme it up...(guides in the Technical Section of this Forum) Cheers Trevor
  2. Hi Mark...welcome to the Forum As Steve has already said, sorry to hear you're having issues already...but at least it can be carried out under warranty. Let us know how you get on with it all Cheers Trevor
  3. Hi Dan...welcome to the Forum Good to have you onboard and nice to see someone likes the VAG brand to an almost fanatical level Will have a look at your questions in the A6 section in a short while, and hopefully, someone on here can help you or point you in the right direction for the solution. Totally agree with your statement that it would be nice if everyone came back and updated with the solution or rectification to the problem, but unfortunately, this is something we struggle to achieve (probably the same for most other forums). Cheers Trevor
  4. Hi Stuart I think Gareth is right with his diagnosis and it probably would have been a separate fuel/ignition system used then. So, most likely culprit would be ignition module or if it has a crankshaft sensor or trigger unit which may be faulty. Otherwise, check fuel filter for crud if been standing for a while. Let us know how you get on with this one Cheers Trevor
  5. Hi Oliver....welcome to the Forum That certainly does look like a superb well-kept car...usual things to check for really...FSH, squeeks, rattles, etc. but generally I believe those engines are quite bulletproof. If in doubt, take a mechanic with you to check it over Not sure about the exact name of the colour, sorry! Cheers Trevor
  6. Hi Mark...welcome to the Forum I shall leave the response to your specific question to those members who actually own an S3, but my only input would be to take your time to find the right car (low miles, service history, etc) Cheers Trevor
  7. Hi Paul...welcome to the Forum Good to have you onboard Cheers Trevor
  8. Cheap bar prices as I remember
  9. Hi Nichola...welcome to the Forum Great photos...very artistic ! Cheers Trevor
  10. Hi John...welcome to the Forum Being as temperatures are a lot hotter where you are compared to the UK then I imagine a water pump failure would be quite catastrophic to the engine. Maybe worth running it up with a new pump and belt fitted to see if you can determine wear and any resulting issues. Also, maybe worth putting a Boroscope down into the cylinder bores to look for scoring or similar marks from seizure of excessive heat transfer into the cylinders. If all else fails then another engine but at least you've got new belt and pump to swap over to it Keep us update on how you get on with this project Cheers Trevor
  11. Top job mate...looking good!
  12. There's a few bits on this link https://uk.video.search.yahoo.com/search/video;_ylt=A9mSs2ksPO5YOS8AjQxLBQx.;_ylu=X3oDMTB0ZTgxN3Q0BGNvbG8DaXIyBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNwaXZz?p=removing+2013+audi+a3+headlamps&fr2=piv-web&fr=mcafee Good luck
  13. Crutch from Cannock I see. My ex-wife (2nd one) came from there. Used to love going there every so often especially to the 'Stumble Inn'. Is it still there?
  14. United Airlines....what were they thinking ? I think I'll stick with Easyjet from now on

  19. am curious myself but have known some really peculiar faults with Audi before (such as an Air Mass Meter affecting the ABS / Traction Control). If the cost for the sensor replacement isn't too costly and they say it will fix the fault then run with it and see what happens (easy for me to say, I'm not paying). Please do let us know the outcome for this one Cheers
  20. Hi Allan...welcome to the Forum Have come across this before, thought it may be someone overtightening the bolts but apparently not if it's just happened to yours as well. I believe there seems to be a pattern forming here. I would advise having the remaining bolts taken out and sourcing some new (high grade) bolts put back in
  21. Hi Helen....welcome to the Forum any advice you want, just ask...not sure we can always answer everything but we'll give it a go Cheers Trevor
  22. Hi James...welcome to the Forum Also, welcome to the wonderful world of Audi Cheers Trevor
  23. Hi Jonathan....welcome to the Forum EGR delete is a good idea, use a blanking plate with a small hole in it and that will keep the light off. Also,Terraclean is good to restore the correct operation of the engine by cleaning out all the carbon. Let us know how you get on with it all Cheers Trevor
