  1. Hi Dom...welcome to the Forum I would personally go for the Petrol engine as if you don't do many miles then the Diesel will more than likely clog up with driving it around locally. As Bradley has recommended the 3.0litre...it would probably be the best choice and also the most fun to drive. Let us know how you get on with finding your replacement Audi. Cheers Trevor

Hi Richard Chances are (not entirely sure without looking at a circuit diagram) but the aerial will probably be operated via a relay, hence the trigger wire (usually blue in colour from the stereo). Once the relay is triggered then the aerial will operate with a negative one side and a positive the other, which will then reverse when it is retracted. In this case, if you put power to it directly (+ & -) then reverse it once it has elevated then it should retract. If not, then look for a relay as this may be faulty Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor

  9. I would probably not advertise the power output just in case it is disputed but state that it has the 6 speed autobox that only used to come with the 245bhp engine output and therefore they can make their own minds up without you inadvertently misleading them.
  10. Hi Tom....welcome to the Forum I think you'll find that it is the variable vanes sticking in the turbo that causes this fault. Would suggest you run a search through this forum for posts on cleaning the turbo...which usually sorts it at very little cost. Cheers Trevor

  15. Hi Eric....welcome to the Forum My first thoughts are the Dash Cam interfering with the onboard systems. The NextBase Dash Cam is supplied with an interference filter (choke) to avoid any interference. Not sure, but maybe worth rewiring it or fitting some suppression?   16. This post certainly raises some interesting points...one of which is can it be reversed or what are the implications of doing such a procedure. I think VW Audi had their hand forced with this update after the emissions scandal. As a result of this, I think they may be receiving so much bad press from the initial faux pas to the resulting upgrade farce and will, therefore, be forced to release another update in the future to rectify the previous update. Maybe more of a reason to take the car back to them for a service with a 'stealth' upgrade possibly? As Magnet mentioned in his previous post, a remap would definitely be the way to rectify the lack of performance but I would probably leave this for a while and see what the dealers offer. Going to be plenty of money made by the remapping companies to rectify all the under-performing Audi's.
  17. Yes, they will need to come out to remove the driveshaft in one piece...try not to pull the joint apart (bearings will go everywhere)
  18. Keep a close eye on all the levels and if nothing is dropping then all well and good. Oil consumption is something to be aware of but this should improve as the engine beds in
  19. As far as I can determine, they are different shape/size. If you have the Cabriolet, then you'll need the 8H lamp eyelids
  20. Hi Trevor (great name by the way!) I'm not overly au fait with Google Maps in Audi's but there have been a couple of posts in the past on this forum about the SIM...worth having a search though the site to see what you can find. I seem to recall that overall, this seemed to be the best option as the Audi Maps are a bit clunky. Let us know what you decide Cheers Trevor
  21. Mystery solved ! Luckily it didn't involve taking the car into the workshop and costing you a fortune though. It's not a bad thing not to have keyless entry...after all it is pretty pointless...where to put the key when you're in the car, what happens when you start the engine but have left the fob back at your house (it does happen), still got to unlock your house with a key so defeating the object of 'keyless'...etc, etc. Sorry for the rant...you can tell I'm not a fan of keyless entry, yet another useless development in cars that really is ridiculous in it's concept

Hi Lee....welcome to the Forum Difficult one to answer....I suppose the correct answer is whichever one has the similar rolling diameter (with the wheel and tyre combined) of the wheel/tyre on the car. The best way would be to position 16" against a wheel on your car to compare it....may be smaller diameter wheel but with larger tyre diameter, could be somewhere near it.   23. Hi Alison...welcome to the Forum We're hearing more stories like this every day...it seems the recall for rectification following the emissions scandal has opened a can of worms. The general advise is don't take it in for the recall but unfortunately, it is too late for you and many others. Lets hope they do a recall to rectify the poor running following this recall Cheers Trevor
