  1. I'll take the red wine, as I've run out of Beer
  2. Hi Bec ... welcome to the Forum Oh dear....there is definitely a recurring theme here....virtually everyone is reporting the same symptoms...not good. Keep us informed on how it goes with the dealers Cheers Trevor
  3. Thought I'd post this up as it looks gorgeous and I can't stop looking at it
  4. Hi Marlon....welcome to the Forum Not entirely sure what the problem is but if the vehicle starts and runs with the key in your pocket then essentially the doors should also unlock as you approach the car or touch the handle. Let us know what you find out. Cheers Trevor
  5. I totally agree....EGR was only there for the manufacturers to produce and sell vehicles to comply with the EURO regulations much like AdBlue and DPF....once you buy it, rip it all out....it's not needed.
  6. I would probably get a scan done to see if anything comes up regarding misfires or sensors out of phase but otherwise a good clean up would suffice, I'm sure
  7. Hi Adam...welcome to the Forum Fine looking car ! Cheers Trevor
  8. Hi Nikki....welcome to the Forum Good to have you onboard Cheers Trevor
  9. Hi Joe...welcome to the Forum Great looking car...gonna be hard to keep it clean I would imagine Cheers Trevor
  10. Wow...that is blocked...never seen one that bad before! EGR blanking plate on order then?
  11. That's great news Darren....all I can say is you must eat a lot of fry-ups to run your car....sounds like my kind of car :-) I suppose the fuel waxes below a certain temperature then without additives?
  12. Hi Maris I would personally go for the tyre option as this will instantly make a huge difference for not a lot of money or effort, see if you can get away with the 50 profile without it interferring with any bodywork/plastics. It will affect the handling on corners so you will find a certain amount of roll into bends compared to the 40 profiles but its a good trade-off I think. Cheers Trevor
  13. Hi Dave I would start with running some cleaning additive through the fuel system and also try some cleaner through the intake as well. Companies like Terraclean do a great service to clean out the soot and carbon build-up in the engine and have it running like new for not a lot of money. http://www.terraclean.co.uk/ Lots of equipment available out there...take your pick http://www.audiownersclub.com/parts-search-results/All/Vehicle_Parts_and_Accessories/131090/vagcom Cheers Trevor
  14. Hi Jim...welcome to the Forum It could be either electrical short circuit...check the wiring in the rubber trunking as it goes into the tailgate as it can get damaged as it articulates when opened and closed. Let us know what you find Cheers Trevor
  15. Hi Duncan ..... welcome to the Forum Fine looking Audi you have there! Good to have you onboard Cheers Trevor
  16. Hi Dave...welcome to the Forum Wow! you certainly do like your Audi's Good to have you onboard Cheers Trevor
  17. Hi Mark...welcome to the Forum Sorry to hear about your ban...that's the problem with driving the next day, I know it's a big problem actually knowing how much alcohol is left in your system and it could essentially catch most people out I would think. Good luck with your car, at least it will give you something to focus on and give you something to do. Keep us updated with progress, be nice to see some pictures as it evolves. Cheers Trevor
  18. Hi Matty....welcome to the Forum Not familiar with a crunching third gear but it is like any gearbox really with damaged synchros...depends how its been used by previous owners. Cheers Trevor
  19. No, I meant more of a scan on a diagnostic machine (VagCom or similar) which should give you fault codes in the ECU memory of events and components failing, etc. You can pick up software and a connection lead on ebay or pop into a VW Audi specialist garage who can scan the car for not a lot of money.
  20. Hi Daniel...welcome to the Forum Can't really help you with the wheels except for breakers yards but I imagine everyone wants them and they'll be gone as soon as they come in. Let us know how you get on with finding some. Cheers Trevor
  21. oops! it obviously didn't like that then. I'm wondering if the two things are related then...worth having a scan to see if there's anything amiss with the CanBus system
  22. Your wish is my command Gareth....all done for you! I have moved the posts from around the forum into the new section and left a thread link for 30 days just incase someone comes back to their post and its not there. Watch this space as they say!
  23. It should have DPF as its new enough. Coincidence with it happening when the fuse blew though??? What blew the fuse initially?
  24. I would consider something like Terraclean which doesn't involve removal of the EGR and also cleans other parts of the engine.
  25. ouch! that's expensive! I can see why you want to leave it until absolutely necessary (e.g.boiling hot summers days)
