Hi Rich..welcome to the Forum I absolutely agree with Gareth, and it doesn't sound right...not with modern day vehicles, any sort of lag would have been designed out of the drivetrain programming and should therefore allow the car to drive faultlessly. I would follow Gareths' suggestion of trying another one to compare them. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor

  5. totally agree with Magnet and I'm sure it's just laziness on my part, as I tend to do that quite a bit....(slapped wrist!)
  6. I believe the two are linked...usually the washer jet leaks because the hose drops off the jet and then fills the boot lock mechanism. A simple strip down and rebuilds is all that's required....along with a lot of WD40
  7. As Brad-B5 has stated...it shouldn't be either too expensive or too difficult to replace but the cost of it not working and running low on oil will be a vast amount more expensive.

  9. Fuel filter replacement is usually around 35-40k miles although I would do a change at the lower figure if you love your car/engine. Quality of fuel filter is imperative when choosing a replacement and it is probably the only time where I would go for a genuine OE part as there are so many inferior after-market filters out there that can cause tremendous problems with engine running on the modern HDi fuel systems.

  11. Hi Tej...welcome to the Forum Yes, in theory, the car should creep forwards. If it is not, I wonder if the brakes are binding slightly...worth jacking each wheel in turn so it's just of the ground and slowly rotate each wheel ensuring there are no points where it binds. Make sure the transmission is in Neutral when you do this and obviously the handbrake off when checking the rears. Additionally, it is worth checking the Auto Trans fluid to see that it's to the correct level. Cheers Trevor
  12. I would imagine you are correct in your diagnosis. Have seen it several times where the vanes are gummed up and then goes into Limp Home mode because of it. There are a few cheap ways around it 1. Terraclean treatment which will totally sort it 2.   21. I haven't personally fitted one to an Audi but have done a few in the past to different vehicles....just follow the instructions closely and you can't go wrong
