  4. I agree with you Magnet...my thoughts are if a rear hose is being replaced then chances are the majority of the brake fluid has disappeared and if refilling and bleeding a dual-circuit brake system, chances are that there is now air in the diagonal circuit. In principle, you are correct and it could involve chasing the air around the vehicle unless some sort of procedure is followed. Your comment on the hose blowing out is bang-on and quite worrying why the hose has gone? This is something that would concern me and also if one has gone because of age (perished) then I would replace them all to be on the safe side.
  5. Hi Simon I would take it to a VW/Audi specialist who can code the lamp into the car and activate it. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
  6. Hi Simon...welcome to the Forum Four Audis?!?....sucker for punishment :-) Glad your enjoying the A6, great car ! Cheers Trevor
  7. Hi Richard...welcome to the Forum The funny thing with French cars is that you either get a good one or a really bad one...had a Citroen Xsara, Peugeot 106 and 206 over the years and they have been incredibly reliable. I can imagine the Audi is a completely different kettle of fish though...better ride, comfort, performance...etc Look forward to reading your posts in the future Cheers Trevor
  8. I use a Mityvac....bought a cheap one from eBay (had to fix it before using it but has been fine since). By far the best way to bleed brakes in my opinion....and no pedal pumping involved.
  9. Why not post a photo of your new pride and joy Click on the link to go to the gallery and then upload as many photos of your Audi as you like http://www.audiownersclub.com/forums/gallery/category/1-members-albums-category/
  10. Hi Gary...welcome to the Forum I would work on the principle that the brakes on all four wheels will need bleeding. The clutch should be okay if the fluid level was maintained enough...but if the pedal feels okay then no need to bleed it...although its good to refresh the fluid every so often. I would keep the fluid topped regularly and using a vacuum bleeder, work around the vehicle in the following sequence. Front left caliper Front right caliper Rear left caliper Rear right caliper I would recommend a vacuum brake bleeder kit (vacuum pump) to draw the fluid through as opposed to using pressure back up through the system....can lead to flipping the master cylinder seals. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
  11. Hi Assim....welcome to the Forum Can totally sympathise with you on the GTR, a truly wonderful car. However, welcome to the wonderful world of Audi....I'm sure the S7 will be a worthy consolation...enjoy it ! Looking forward to seeing some piccies of it. Cheers Trevor

  17. I would totally agree with Magnet....usually an engine preheater but if you don't have that as a fitted option then I would be worried
