Hi To All & Owners Manual Question
Audi Owners Club. replied to Jimbob21's topic in New Members Introductions
Hi Jim...welcome to the Forum Welcome also to the world of Audi ! Here is a link to a selection of MMI related manuals and discs http://www.ebay.co.uk/dsc/Vehicle-Parts-Accessories/131090/i.html?_ddo=1&_os=PS|D&_ipg=100&_from=R40&LH_TitleDesc=1&_nkw=Audi+A6+mmi+manual&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.XAudi+A6+mmi+manual.TRS0&_odkw=Audi+A6+S6+RS6+audio&_osacat=131090 Cheers Trevor -
Rejected two Jags... now hoping to love my Audi!
Audi Owners Club. replied to Jonty1625's topic in New Members Introductions
Wow! that's extremely worrying...glad I haven't experienced anything like that before, what an absolute nightmare trying to drive a possessed car in the dark, although probably bad enough in the daytime I would imagine. Don't blame you throwing the car back at them....unless of course you are being paid by them for being a human guinee-pig! Enjoy the Audi and hopefully, you don't experience any of the reliability issues that you experienced on the Jag. -
Rejected two Jags... now hoping to love my Audi!
Audi Owners Club. replied to Jonty1625's topic in New Members Introductions
Hi Jon....welcome to the Forum Not sure what happened with the Jag XE but if you want to elaborate with the story, I'd love to hear it. I think you'll enjoy the A6, decent car and especially one with the RS badge! I've just ordered a DTUK tuning box for my Honda CRV 2.2cdti so will be writing a report shortly on the benefits, etc of it along with an article on the pro's and con's of electronic tuning...so watch this space. Cheers Trevor -
Hi Keith .... welcome to the Forum I'm not too sure about an indexed playlist as such, but I just dump my music on SD and randomise the selection...sorry, not much help. Anyone got any suggestions ???? Cheers Trevor

Maps for my Audi
Audi Owners Club. replied to johnnyfaddo's topic in Audi Audio / DashCams / Electronics / Security
There seems to be some controversy over this issue, e.g. Audi require you to purchase the updates through them on a regular basis (due to going out of date rapidly) and it's not the cheapest....around £200 I believe. There is more info on https://login.audi.com/login/#/en/GB/login?utm_source=AudiOwnersClub&utm_medium=ForumLinks&utm_campaign=referrals Alternatively, you can purchase maps on the SD card but they will probably be out of date by the time they hit eBay....certainly the case for a Honda that I own....and I believe it will also need activating to the car. Let us know how you get on with it -

Audi Owners Club. replied to johnnyfaddo's topic in New Members Introductions
Hi John...welcome to the Forum You could have a look at this link and hopefully there should be some information in there that helps. If not, then I'm pretty sure it is a visit to Audi for them to activate it (at considerable cost I'm sure) Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor -
'Check' warning lights - unsure what it means
Audi Owners Club. replied to nellyboy__'s topic in Audi A6 (C6) Forum
Hi Nelly...welcome to the Forum It would seem that you are running through the warning lamp system to ensure that they are working correctly. I don't see that you have any issues there. Cheers Trevor -
2.0 TDI oil pump issues when fixed?
Audi Owners Club. replied to JJbig's topic in Audi A4 (B8) Forum
Hi Paul...welcome to the Forum I would probably consult Audi on this one and extend your warranty if at all possible. Keep us updated Cheers Trevor -
Hi Josh....welcome to the Forum Same floorpan...but not sure about interior cabin dimensions Let us know what you find out Cheers Trevor

Hi Chris...welcome to the Forum I think Audi sorted the DSG issues around that time (clutch packs and/or mechatronics)...would suggest consulting Audi as to the replacement oil specification because I believe they changed the specs recently to ensure reliability of the boxes in the long term. They recommend changing the oil & filter around 40k miles. Let us know what you find out. Cheers Trevor

Hi Thomas...welcome to the Forum You could be looking at a slight vacuum leak on the inlet manifold or an adjustment to the setting on the idle speed control valve (carried out through a scan tool) An engine is supposed to fast idle on start up but normally it should be around 1200rpm. Cheers Trevor

Audi Owners Club. replied to Audi Owners Club.'s topic in Road Trips
I've heard that the roads are quite awful around there...not much money in the south of Italy which apparently has led to the roads becoming substandard. Shame about the Citroen...would have been a lot better in your TT -
Hi Tony...welcome to the Forum I would definitely recommend running your car on premium fuel and I would head more towards Shell...only because they have a good reward scheme with money back on fuel purchases. Try iceboxautos for an aftermarket system http://www.iceboxauto.com/audi Cheers Trevor

Hi...and welcome to the Forum It is common for brake light switches to fail on Audi's and VW's. I believe you may have two different switches on the pedal, one for the brake lights and one to throw a signal to the ECU to show the brakes have been applied. For what they cost, maybe replace both? Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor

Sorry, probably not much help but here is a link for Audi mirrors http://www.audiownersclub.com/parts-results/A6-S6-RS6/Wing-Mirrors--Accessories/36682

would love to see a picture of it...sounds remote (no chance of any speed traps then) ! -
That's a bonus ! Always satisfying when you do the job yourself and save money as well Thanks for letting us know the outcome

Hi Colin...welcome to the Forum It could well be the Body Control Module at fault but only with the programming of it rather than any hard failure. Worth running a proper scan on it using something like VAGCOM or similar. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor

Hi San...welcome to the Forum Sorry can't help you with the part number for the clip but would enquire directly with Audi as they shouldn't cost too much from them. Coolant leaks are generally related to corrosion or failure of seals, flanges or gaskets where there has been a lack of anti-freeze in the system, especially in this cold weather. I would advise to look at all areas of the system that appear suspect, as when you fix one weak point the pressure will generally go to the next weak area. Also, once you're happy you've sorted the leaks then refill the system with good quality anti-freeze. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor

Hi Jack....welcome to the Forum What model of Audi have you got? Have you got a second key and is it the same with that one as well? Cheers Trevor
-
Hi James I agree entirely with Gareths' comments and would also add that it's definitely worth spending the money on the car when you get it to put right any potential faults (e.g. cambelt) and at least you know they are done properly and something less to worry about. As already mentioned, the rattle could be as simple as an engine flush and oil change but refilling with Audi recommended oils and the best quality you can get for your budget. Keep us updated on your progress with acquiring an Audi. Cheers Trevor
