  1. Hi Steve...welcome to the Forum Generally the A4 is a great car and depending on your driving usage I would say that the diesel engine is the better option to go for. Keep us informed as to how you get on with finding one Cheers Trevor
  2. Hi Tim...welcome to the Forum Sounds like the climate control may need resetting if its blowing out different temperatures in different directions. Cheers Trevor
  3. Hi James....welcome to the Forum Just ask away if you have any questions...not always sure we'll have the right answers though, lol Cheers Trevor
  4. I can see your point...getting it checked over is definitely a good place to start though. Keep us informed of progress
  5. Hi Ray...welcome to the Forum It certainly looks fantastic in that colour with those wheels. Keep us informed of any mods you carry out...would be interested to see how it progresses. Cheers Trevor
  6. Hi Karen....welcome to the Forum That's not particularly good news for a new Audi but I think it stems from poor design as opposed to a defect. The manufacturer may bring out a modification for it in time, but worth nagging them as this may push through something sooner. Probably best not to put a laptop in the boot this time of year as when you bring it inside it tends to sweat with condensation from going from the cold into the warm and this can lead to internal corrosion. Let us know how you progress with any modifications Regards Trevor
  7. This may help you...not too sure of it's origin
  8. Hi Sam....welcome to the Forum Look forward to reading your posts Cheers Trevor
  9. Hi Wilson...welcome to the Forum Post up some piccies of your new Audi if you would like to. Cheers Trevor
  10. Hi Aaron....welcome to the Forum and to the world of Audi It must seem like an eternity to wait for it to arrive. Let us know when you get it Cheers Trevor
  11. Ouch!!!! that looks quite severe! Definitely another cylinder head needed. http://www.audiownersclub.com/parts-results/A4-S4-RS4/Cylinder-Heads--Head-Covers-/61363
  12. Ouch!!!! that looks quite severe! Definitely another cylinder head needed. http://www.audiownersclub.com/parts-results/A4-S4-RS4/Cylinder-Heads--Head-Covers-/61363
  13. Hi Nick...welcome to the Forum I would run a scan on the engine management system to see if there are any fault codes logged for the misfire. If not, then it could be virtually anything, even the quality of the engine oil or vacuum leaks....best to test the individual systems before replacing any components though. Keep us informed on how you get on with this Cheers Trevor
  14. I would say that 44mpg is not too bad overall but way short of manufacturer claims. The manufacturer claims have recently been proved as inaccurate as they were carried out on a rolling road simulation...so I wouldn't worry too much about what they claim. Several A7 owners have complained of even lower mpg figures. Remapping may increase economy so possibly worth looking into. Cheers Trevor
  15. Hi Steve...welcome to the Forum Sounds like a strange problem...cannot think of anything logical that would help in this instance. Hopefully, some other members may be able to shine some light on it...anyone ??? Cheers Trevor
  16. You can get a replacement service book from the dealer and if you know where it was serviced they should be able to print out a history of the car to attach inside the book. Here's a link to a useful site with schedules http://www.audilynbrook.com/audi-scheduled-maintenance-guides.htm
  17. oh my goodness...that's still a huge amount of money. I would certainly contemplate putting some coolant stop leak in the system first to see if that cures it because porous castings are only where there was an air pocket when casting the component and a simple stopleak solution 'cures' the minute hole and may last the life of the engine.
  18. Hi Steven...welcome to the Forum I wonder if the springs are from a diesel engine version which would be heavier and therefore maybe the ride height is higher with only the weight of a petrol engine in it? Otherwise, you got yourself a bargain there! Cheers Trevor
  19. HI Calvin...welcome to the Forum I would agree with everything that Magnet has said but it may also be worth checking the number plate lights as there may be two of them and only one working? Let us know how you get on with it all Cheers Trevor
  20. Hi Simon...welcome to the Forum I don't think you can go wrong with an early(ish) A4 and I would always prefer a Diesel for the economy and durability. As regards what to look for...service history from a reputable garage, not particularly a dealership and ensure all planned maintenance replacement items (such as cambelt and fluids) are replaced when they should have been. Let us know how you get on with it all. Cheers Trevor
  21. Best to check the difference in tread depth as overall rolling diameter (if on 4WD/AWD systems) can affect the transmission and ABS
  22. Hi Mark...welcome to the Forum I was tempted to ask how the pigeon got on but thought better of it. I suppose if you're not using the Air Con until the condenser is replaced (along with the grille) then you could remove it or refit it then. Let us know how you get on with it all Cheers Trevor
  23. Hi Tony...welcome to the Forum Looking forward to reading your posts in the future. Cheers Trevor
  24. Hi Adam....welcome to the Forum Also, welcome back to the wonderful world of Audi Cheers Trevor
  25. Hi Paul...welcome to the Forum Just fire away with your problems...remember 'a problem shared is a problem halved' or something like that! Cheers Trevor
