  1. Hi Scott...welcome to the Forum Welcome also to the wonderful world of Audi! I would imagine if you enhance the power beyond the recommended limits, then something has to give and in the case of large bursts of power through the transmission then the standard clutch will more than likely suffer as a result. Look forward to reading your posts in the future. Cheers Trevor
  2. Hi Sunil...welcome to the Forum There is some info on MMI in the Technical Section of this Forum that may be of some use to you regarding upgrades. Otherwise, if any other members have done this procedure, please let us know...anyone?? Cheers Trevor
  3. Sounds like you need an impact wrench to shift the bolts (a cordless type would be ideal)...the discs if loose should just come off alternatively you could have two screws as you say holding it against the hub.
  4. Hi Saf...welcome to the Forum Sorry...no Vectra owners allowed on here.....only joking! I don't think you'll be too disappointed with the A4, sounds like it's fully loaded being the special edition as well. I believe the increase in HP is achieved by ECU reprogramming but there was a mod for the size of the turbo K03 to K04 (see link for more info on these turbos) http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/tfsik03k04conversion.htm Hope you find the 'right' car and keep us informed of how you're getting on Cheers Trevor
  5. Wise words Gareth, and in particular the relevance of buying a premium battery for what is sometimes only a little more than a standard, lower quality battery. I bought one yesterday (alas, it is now battery season...where all weak batteries die off) for a Peugeot 206, brand new Exide type 012 for £30.16 + VAT...can't get any cheaper and better than that. This was also from a Battery Wholesaler, at trade price...but always worth shopping around for best price but never at the expense of quality!
  6. Hi Alistair...welcome to the Forum Would be interested to see what mods you carry out in the quest to gain more power....please keep us informed. Cheers Trevor
  7. Short video clip of Key Fob Battery replacement
  8. Hi William...welcome to the Forum Here is a video clip of how to replace the battery, just in case you missed something vital....battery direction, etc. To programme the key to the car follow these instructions: Insert your key in drive side door, unlock it. (key to the left) open it. close door. lock it by turning key to the right. open door again and then turn the engine on. That should do it, let us know if it works. Cheers Trevor
  9. Is it the same for both fog lamps? Is it easy enough to remove the lamps and maybe see what's occurring with the adjusters internally. Maybe even then, refit them with some packing behind to angle the units down slightly?
  10. Hi Brian....welcome to the Forum Either the unit has lost a power supply to recognise or power the eject function or it is genuinely defective. If it is defective and you just want to get the CDs out then it should be easy enough to remove the unit (to replace it with another one) and lift the lid to manually eject the CDs. Let us know how you get on with it. Cheers Trevor
  11. Shame...won't be long before they're collectable too. As they say, every dog has their day....the only one I regret getting rid of is my Rover 200 BRM (almost an MG) as they are getting seriously collectable now.
  12. It's such a shame that the A7 is giving you problems yet the Q5 isn't...maybe best to swap out the A7 for another Q5 then?
  13. You could check the coolant sensor by measuring the resistance versus temperature but it would be easier just to replace it...but do check the wires leading to the connector as these can break.
  14. Hi Anthony...welcome to the Forum Hope the weather's a bit warmer there than it is over here at the moment (-2 degrees and that's on the South Coast!) Quite a varied working life you've had, but sounds like it's time to sit back and enjoy life in the sun. Let us know what you think of your new Audi when you get it. Cheers Trevor
  15. There are a couple of ways of illuminating the warning lamp...one is to earth the pad wear sensor against earth (e.g. the disc once the pad wears enough for the sensor to contact the disc and earth out) and the other way is for the sensor to have a loop wire which is broken once the pad sensor wears through. If it is not earthed out then the sensor wire just needs joining up near the connection to loop it out and that should extinguish the lamp.
  16. Hi Harry ..... welcome to the Forum Your engine should be running the K03 turbo but here is a link with some more info and potential to upgrade to K04 for more power http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/tfsik03k04conversion.htm Cheers Trevor
  17. Keep us updated on how you get on with it and hopefully that's all that's required to put it back to where it should be.
  18. That's good to hear and glad you got it sorted before it turned into something worse with the potential of causing even more damage. Also, now it's all done and dusted it's miles of trouble free motoring and peace of mind.
  19. @dstill I wonder if Ben is happy with the Nano grey, as you seem to be? It certainly sounds like the best choice of the two options
  20. If a cambelt is slightly loose it won't necessarily slip a tooth but it can be enough to put the two sensor out of phase....haven't seen this fault since the Vauxhall Cavalier but the principle is the same so it's worth checking to be on the safe side.
  21. Hi Josh....welcome to the Forum It could be a combination of fault switches but worth checking the wiring going into the door from the A post as when the door opens and closes the wiring can get broken internally. Hold the button in a switched position and wiggle the wiring or open/close the door slightly to see if it operates. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
  22. Hi Ben....welcome to the Forum There have been numerous posts on here recently about the poor mpg figures being delivered by the diesel engined Audi's. Do wonder if its something to do with the recent emissions scandal or whether there is something wrong with the fuel quality lately. I am getting significantly less mpg on one of my other cars (Honda CR-V cdti) which was always delivering an average of 44mpg at any point in time....now is won't go above 37mpg no matter what. First thought are to service it to improve the smooth running of the engine to try to increase it but thought I may try higher grade (more expensive) fuel on offer in the stations to see if it makes any difference. Only other suggestion I could make is to consider a remap which should improve mpg figures? Cheers Trevor
  23. A remap may improve this?
  24. Hi Dave...welcome to the Forum Don't know from personal experience but hear the 'real world mpg' isn't as near as the quoted manufacturers figures but probably a remap would improve that. Otherwise, the bigger Diesel engine Audi's are pretty reliable overall. Let us know how you get on with purchasing one. Cheers Trevor
  25. Here is a link to some info on MMI systems that may be of help http://mr-fix.info/tag/audi-mmi-3g/?utm_source=AudiOwnersClub&utm_medium=ForumLinks&utm_campaign=referrals Not sure if any members now if this is the latest issue?
