  2. Good collection of MGs...worth loads of money now ! Had quite a few myself and still remember them fondly (except for the BGT)
  3. Hi Wayne...welcome to the Forum Sounds like the hose could have been the fault then...other suggestions would be the turbo vanes sticking with carbon...just need to run a cleaner through it and drive it hard to clear it out. The vibration appearing at between 60-70 mph is more than likely a wheel imbalance (which may not be felt through the electric power steering) and won't cost much to sort. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
  4. Hi Martin....welcome to the Forum That's a shame you got a cabriolet just as the weather has turned cold...however, I still take my convertible out in the winter, just have to turn the heating up and it's still great fun. Enjoy! Cheers Trevor
  5. It would be worth checking the battery condition before proceeding further as this could cause the symptoms you're describing...and if there is any doubt then worth changing the battery especially this time of year when there is more demand on the electrical systems. I think also that if it isn't the battery at fault, it may be worthwhile removing the radio connection just to see if that makes a difference. Let us know how you get on with it. Cheers Trevor
  6. Hi Jason....welcome to the Forum Firstly I don't think its advisable to skip a service but if it has been carried out and they didn't reset the service reminder then you could follow this tutorial to reset it yourself http://mr-fix.info/audi-mmi-3g-reset-oil-change-interval-reminder/ Cheers Trevor

  12. Hi Colin...welcome to the Forum It seems like a lot of guesswork has been taking place so far....the only way forward is by using proper diagnostic tests (does it fuel, air going in/out the engine, fault codes, wrong fuel, etc) I would definitely entrust a VAG specialist in your area to look at it logically. Fault codes would be a good place to start. Looking at the Fuel Filter housing / supply to see what fuel it is drawing up (if any) is another good place to start with. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
  13. Hi Steve Not too sure exactly what the wires look like but could be for audio/phone cradle (if fitted)
  14. Hi....welcome to the Forum You may just need to drive the car for a while for it to relearn after the battery disconnect. Not sure about the LED bulbs you got but it would only be down to resistance (or lack of it) that's putting the light on...maybe try a different make of bulbs? Let us know how you get on with it all. Cheers Trevor
  15. You may be able to try a belt from another vehicle if you cut the old belt to the correct length and go to your local motor factors to match it up, even a new type stretch belt might work. It's got to be worth the time spent trying to go this route and bypass the air cond completely but not sure about the routeing and how you tension it sufficiently...trial and error I guess
  16. Definitely worth a look at their range of enhanced units to replace the standard (and sometimes limited) audio system http://www.iceboxauto.com/audi
  17. Hi Andrew....welcome to the Forum not experience this on a car as late as yours, only earlier models where it was the stalk at fault. Let us know if you find any info on this . Cheers Trevor
  18. Hi...welcome to the Forum It sounds reasonable for a car of that mileage and will probably be spotless for that money. You could always try haggling on the price a little! Good luck with your purchase Cheers Trevor
  19. Hi...and welcome to the Forum It sounds like a great car overall....things like the waterpump are essential when cambelt is replaced but should be showing on the bill (if present). The brakes could be from standing around but I personally would replace them all (if there is a wear ridge / lip on the discs suggest that they are worn and for what they cost are well worth doing to improve the pedal/handbrake. May be worth considering replacing the standard hoses for Goodridge hoses which will definitely firm-up the pedal....along with brake fluid replacement. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
  20. Hi David....welcome to the Forum The engine may be physically the same and the extra power is achieved through Electronic Control Unit mapping to squeeze out some more power. Another check to determine a little more about the vehicle is to use the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry online service which may shed some more light on it. Cheers Trevor
  21. That all looks fine...to be expected if at raised idle with a few ancillaries switched on
  22. That would seem to be correct as it's probably the voltage sensing wire that energises the alternator and puts the charging light out once there is a charge occuring.
  23. Hi Michael...welcome to the Forum I would have thought is was just a case of opening up the option through a software update as opposed to a complete unit replacement at the factory...maybe they are referring to the initial setup procedure (PDI) where this may have occurred at the factory but could still I would have thought been carried out at the dealership. Just nag them some more and see how you get on. Cheers Trevor
  24. Not sure about Spotify but I'm sure its the same principle as Napster and Aupeo (never heard of that one though) its just a case of streaming it through Bluetooth I would imagine it's the same unless they have locked out Spotify because of licensing or trying to push the other two apps?
  25. Hi Guy...welcome to the Forum Sounds like it could be Crank Sensor as these tend to fail when the engine gets hot. As you say, the other issues could be related to the Crank Sensor. I would also check the cambelt as a precaution because if that is slightly loose it can out the crank and cam sensors out of phase which could also lead to that fault. let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
