  1. Hi Andrew...welcome to the forum! I don't have too much specific knowledge on the Audi A/C system but by what you have described, I would probably scan the system and look for live data (ambient air temperature sensor readings, etc) before looking at replacing anymore components. Also, if there are any fault codes stored it could lead you into the right direction. Let us know how you get on with this issue....I hope some other members can shed some light on this issue. Best Regards, Trevor - Admin
  2. Hi Carl, thought other members would have responded to this post by now....would be interested to know what's out there and what looks good Anyone???
  3. An EGR by-pass is a good place to start...try one with the small hole in the middle, its usually enough to fool the system in believing everything is still in situ. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/AUDI-A3-TT-2-0-DIESEL-EGR-VALVE-BLANKING-PLATE-1-5MM-THICK-STEEL-HD/331800987250?hlpht=true&ops=true&viphx=1&_trksid=p5197.c100068.m2280&_trkparms=ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140211130857%26meid%3D67afb27797b24f169296226b76d2d098%26pid%3D100068%26clkid%3D5935374487797316359&_qi=RTM2063723 Boost pressure for your model should be in the region of 1.1 - 1.3 bar
  4. Hi Simon, Is the starting fault when the engine is hot or cold? If only when cold, I would suggest the glow plugs may be faulty. The white smoke suggest unburnt or partially burnt fuel so either glow plugs or compression could cause this....is the engine oil due for replacement?
  5. Hi Carl, The easiest way to determine whether it is the exhaust is to drop into an exhaust centre and ask them to put it on a ramp and move the exhaust around on its mountings and thump the cat / silencers to hear for rattling of broken catalyst or baffles. Check also for loose heat shields whilst under the car. At least then you can eliminate the exhaust...look also at how much play there are in the engine mountings as if these are soft, you would get a lot of movement on the engine under acceleration. Hope this helps to start with? Regards, Trevor - Admin
  6. Hi Reuben, welcome to the A3 Forum There are several signs to indicate that the clutch or flywheel are faulty and on their way out. One of these is shuddering as you have already experienced but this could also be down to other factors not associated with the clutch. Usually, pedal height, biting point, harshness felt through the pedal when engaging/disengaging the clutch, clattering noise when starting/switching off engine...all of which could be a problem in the future. I would advise a reputable garage / experienced mechanic take the car for a drive to offer an opinion before spending money. Let us know how you get on. Best Regards, Trevor - Admin
  7. Hi Peter, just reading through your post from February...did you get it sorted in the end?
  8. Hi Dave...welcome to the club! Sorry to hear you're having problems with your Audi...especially electrical ones. I'm sure someone else has had this issue before...hopefully someone will know the solution? I can only advise disconnecting each component in turn by removing the fuse and with a multimeter attached measuring amps (ignition off, key removed) and see which systems power down and are no longer drawing current which will indicate the area to investigate. Best of luck, Trevor - Admin
  9. Hi James, Just some ideas here as I'm sure the garage have already checked these items, but here they are: Camshaft timing moved? Spark at plugs? Engine breathing and exhausting (e.g. blocked exhaust system, blocked intake) Compression test / Leak-down test....quick and easy to do and can diagnose a multitude of faults Please keep us informed of any developments as other members may have similar starting issues. Best Regards, Trevor - Admin
  10. Thanks Martin....look forward to seeing to seeing the photos of it all stickered up

I personally would sticker the hell out of the Audi...loud & proud is definitely the way forward and I think the new R18 livery would be incredible. I shall look out for the Jag and the Audi next week...where do you guys camp or are you lucky enough to get a hotel? Best Regards, Trevor - Admin
