  1. Good luck on the trip Jack and look forward to reading the instalments
  2. Thanks for your valid suggestions Gareth, we should be able to implement most of the above points. A short while ago we implemented the mandatory Registration for all members to view the forums rather than just peruse the content without contributing to posts. However, this may have inadvertently lead to new members posting and not responding once they have their answer Certainly I think the above recommendations could lead to cutting back on the unresponsive posters along with some other potential measures to combat this problem.
  3. Hi @Wakior ....welcome to the Club Where are you based in France?
  4. Hi all, Very valid points made in the above posts and myself, Gareth and Steve have been discussing this issue to try to come up with a working solution. It does seem to be an issue with this site predominantly, as I am on several other forums and this site does have many more un-responded posts (by the original poster). The issue is not easily resolved as would be difficult to get the OP to reply to their post if they do not wish to. However, we are actively looking to find a software 'plug in' to encourage members to reply to their own posts. Another feature we have is the 'Established Member' group promotion which has been active in the system for sometime now, albeit the original post number for promotion was set to 100 posts. We have now lowered it to 40 posts to qualify to be promoted to this group. The benefit of this group is that much like Premium Members get to see less advertising, Established Members see slightly less and also we can set other functions to benefit this member group. My thoughts are if we could get a plug in and run it in conjunction with the group promotion then it could see more responses from members in the forums. Also, as mentioned in this thread, we can enhance the Member Profile on sign up with a requirement to complete more information about their vehicle and interests in the group, e.g. events participation, specific interests, etc. Thanks for all your suggestions so far and will keep a close eye on this topic to see what else we can come up with to resolve this issue. Cheers, Trevor (Admin)
  5. Thanks Steve.....and great to see you also
  6. A short video I made (very badly) of the event
  7. I actually went onto Autotrader to look for Allroads and found a few very reasonably priced cars....and also the A4 and A6 later versions (not as robust as the earlier Allroad I don't believe)
  8. Here is the link to your road trip review in the States https://autoevoke.com/index.php?/forums/topic/2860-road-trip-through-nevada-arizona/
  9. I think the All-Road is the best choice of vehicle to traverse any terrain and also offering comfort and economy for the trip (which after a few thousand miles will certainly be noticable). My ideal trip (latest hankering) is across America (east to west) but on a Harley and Mustang through various stages and even train for a certain part of it.
  10. ....and to you too Steve
  11. Apparently it was built by Ceaușescu during his reign to transport military equipment (and goodness knows what else) across Romania the quickest way. About the only decent thing I think he managed to achieve!
  12. Thanks Gareth and to you and yours as well ! Lets hope we can all enjoy a wonderful festive break and look forward to a healthy and prosperous 2022
  13. Not so good on a motorbike as gets a bit blustery up that high and crosswinds are horrific....but adrenaline rush 🙂
  14. Well done chaps! Superb trip and amazing route through some wonderful parts of our country. Great to see the Audi munching the miles for such an old girl and just goes to show how well they were built back then 🙂
  15. Hi Brian You should look into the rules and regs (which seem to change regularly) https://www.gov.uk/driving-abroad Doesn't seem to be too many restrictions at the moment regarding documentation after Brexit/Covid but still worth covering all the bases to ensure you stick to the rules. Check also that you do not need a Crit'Air or Vignette to travel any of the roads you intend to drive
  16. Just as well you didn't drive then Steve.....would also consider replacing the other side as this may well be in the same condition. also it helps to balance the cars handling and should ideally be replaced as a pair.
  17. Did notice that Steve and its a very good point.....probably best to keep any eye out for any of our members but I suppose that depends where the stand will be in respect of the location of the entrance
  18. Beaulieu have issued this instruction and also the label that requires printing out and displaying in the windscreen: Please find attached your club label – please can this be distributed amongst your club members prior to the event. Please ensure that they print this label and display it in their windscreen upon entry to the event, this ensures that all members wishing to park within your club area are directed to the correct parking location by our stewards. 19. We have just updated the system software so this may resolve the issue. Let me know if it makes any difference, thanks
  20. Hi Any issues relating to logging in then send me a message directly and I will try to resolve the issues. Cheers, Trevor
