  1. I'd totally agree...more than likely a worn bush
  2. Let us know how this pans out....hopefully you can use the 'safety issue' aspect of the fault to hassle them for an urgent repair.
  3. Hi Brian....welcome to the Forum I think your decision making 'tick boxes' are already there....petrol engine, quattro, B8....it's now just a case of finding the best car for your money. You should be able to pick up a very nice example for that budget. Let us know when you find one and pop up some piccies of it. Cheers Trevor
  4. Ouch!!! that looks horrific! Hope no-one was hurt? Not sure about the compatibility of all of the components but it should just be a case of dropping out the subframe complete with all ancillaries in one unit.
  5. Hi Nathan....welcome to the Forum Not sure why it would only come on when the fuel level is low but if it is when you give the car 'some welly' then it may be either a blocked cat/exhaust or a slight exhaust leak which could be causing the light to come on. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
  6. Thanks for the feedback Jim, always useful to know the outcome and where the fault lies.
  7. Hi Susan....glad it's all sorted now. If you could post up the procedure I'm sure plenty of other members could benefit from your experience. You can use this link to post up a tutorial http://www.audiownersclub.com/forums/tutorials/ Many thanks, Trevor
  8. sorry, not sure but I would imagine they would do if they are not auto folding
  9. Not entirely sure but it does sound like it is a programming issue rather than a fault with the vehicle...I'm sure the dealer will advise you (hopefully at little cost to setting up and using the feature)....maybe worth asking them the question before committing it into the workshop.
  10. So basically, the seatbelt stalk unplugged itself or is it where the Audi Assist techy unplugged it?
  11. Hi Samantha....welcome to the Forum The first issue could well be BCM but also it could be the way it's set up with the coding..either way it would need scanning and testing to confirm. The second issue, the best solution as you have already stated is to try another one and do a comparison. Chances are they never coded the transmission in properly once it was rebuilt. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
  12. Hi Carl...welcome to the Forum Wow! that's a huge amount of money....would be tempted to go to a specialist VW/Audi repairer who will probably be ex-dealer techie anyway and do the same job for a quarter of the price Let us know where you end up getting the job done Cheers Trevor
  13. HI Chris...welcome to the Forum Not entirely sure but you could do with running a heavy duty discharge test on your battery(s) to see if it is failing as this can sometimes be the reason for electronics playing up in the A6...if all okay, then try a battery reset to see if that improves things. Let us know how this is going Cheers Trevor

  15. Hi...welcome to the Forum Sorry, didn't get round to reading your post until now but at least you've found the info you need. Thanks also for posting up the link, useful for others who need the info as well. Cheers Trevor
  16. Hi Mike...welcome to the Forum I think we all agree...would love to see some piccys of it Cheers Trevor
  17. Hi Jim....welcome to the Forum Not personally sure about who to recommend but I'm sure someone will pop up soon with a recommendation Cheers Trevor
  18. I don't know for sure but I've always used a rag as you can apply more pressure (whether that's right or wrong thing to do, I'm not sure)
  19. Hi Barry ..... welcome to the Forum Not new to Audi then I see.....impressive range of past cars! Good to have you onboard Cheers Trevor
  20. yeh...come on Brad-B5 go for it !
  21. Not a body & paint man myself, but the one over the wheel looks like it would buff out....not sure about the other one though, but worth having a go at it as it shouldn't have a negative effect on it.
  22. Hi....and welcome to the Forum what rbdazza says.... the 1.8t is the one to get for modding but depends on whether you want to go for economy or power. A lovely saying I always remember is 'speed is only a matter of money....how fast can you afford to go?' Keep us updated on how your potential purchase is going. Cheers Trevor
  23. Sand.and ..... yes, the post is staying put. I have also posted this over to other areas of the forum to raise awareness to the relevant vehicle owners.
  24. Was it only the tyres that the garage replaced?
  25. Thanks for sharing the video Tom....looks quite professional and looks like you had fun making it as well.
