  1. Hi Raf...welcome to the Forum I totally agree with Brad-B5...it is so difficult to tell what it is without proper diagnosis being carried out first. In addition to fault codes (if any) live data should be captured to see what is 'glitching' at the time it is juddering. Keep us updated with what you find Cheers Trevor
  2. I would have the vehicle battery(s) checked as if one is failing then this can lead to the problem. Let us know what you find
  3. Hi Simon...welcome to the Forum Great looking interior! Cheers Trevor
  4. Hi Aaron I would recommend a remap and intake/exhaust to improve the power output rather than replacing the turbo as the cost is far higher and also usually requires additional engine work to make it totally beneficial. The gearbox should be fine but the clutch may need a heavier duty driven plate if the power increases that much. If the engine is consuming oil then it is either leaking or burning it (in which case there should be some signs of it)....maybe change the grade (heavier weight of oil...e.g. 0w30 to 5w30). The posts are answered as quick as possible but as Brad-B5 has stated it seems like everyone has a particular problem they want sorted and there is not much interaction from other members with responses or answers. Eventually I'm sure things will change so please bear with us :-) Cheers Trevor
  5. As Brad-B5 has said, a full diagnostic check would isolate the cause but also if the EGR plate doesn't have a small hole in it to allow a certain amount of gas through it can throw up faults. Another thing worth trying is running a fuel treatment and intake cleaner through the engine to see if that sorts it out. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
  6. Hi Jimmy.....welcome to the Forum Not entirely sure what the differences between the different headlamps are but here is a link to some headlamps and also includes some aftermarket LED lamps. http://www.audiownersclub.com/parts-results/A4-S4-RS4/Headlight-Assemblies/44240 Let us know how you get on with it all Cheers Trevor
  7. Could be worn engine/gearbox mounts and the judder is the lash being taken up. Alternatively, then suspect either the driven plate or flywheel as both could give a judder.
  8. Hi Trevor I would agree with Brad-B5 about the vacuum leak which can cause these symptoms but also it may be the engine management needs recoding / resetting. Get it checked on the VAG diagnostic equipment and see if there is an programme update to sort this. Keep us updated on how you get this resolved. Cheers Trevor
  9. Hi Jamie...welcome to the Forum On Volkswagens the same fault occurs and it is always the boot switch suffering from water ingress from the leaking washer hose. Hope that its sorted now then Cheers Trevor
  10. Hi Katie...welcome to the Forum Like Brad-B5 says, maybe delete out the settings and start again may initiate the phone pairing. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
  11. Hi Danny....welcome to the Forum By what you are saying and especially when you mentioned the clunking and grinding noises I would say that it sounds very much like the gearbox is faulty. Probably best to drive it to an Automatic Transmission specialist to look at it. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
  12. Here is a link to some info that may be useful and there are also some other links in the Technical Section and also the Tutorials & Guides Section of the Forum
  13. Quality is immediately noticeable I reckon...as soon as you've fill it and driving it the mpg goes up and feels quicker....either that or my subconsieous is saying 'come on you've paid good money for that, you will notice the difference!'
  14. seems about right! always comes back to revenue for the Government and not for the good of the people :-(

  17. Hi...welcome to the Forum The Q5 is a superb motor....feel free to post up some piccies of it if you like. Cheers Trevor
  18. Does the smoke smell of oil or fuel? If not, then it may be steam and this is coolant being burnt within the engine...if so, this can cause tremendous damage to the pistons and cylinder head so if you are losing coolant then it needs investigating immediately. It could also be fuel particulates being converted in the Cat and emitting as water vapour in which case it can damage the cat and may indicate that you have a misfire issue.
  19. Difficult one that...I wouldn't like to say how they will fair over time...sorry!
  20. Hi Tony....welcome to the Forum It almost sounds like a case of having to change the settings to show dual dials, maybe a case of preferences? Let us know what you find Cheers Trevor

  24. It's rather strange to see that Hybrids have gone up with the new laws...thought they would be keen to keep the cost down to encourage people to buy Hybrid?
  25. Hi James Could be a worn patch on the Throttle Potentiometer or fault in the Air Mass Meter....vacuum leak, etc I would run a scan on the ECU to see if there are fault codes present and go from there Let us know what you find Cheers Trevor
