Collected car yesterday, everything working as it should (plus wireless Android Auto which wasn't there before!) and Audi waived the diagnostic fee so finally all sorted....!

Yeah, definitely steep but I'd rather that than keep being annoyed with something that should work but isn't quite right. Even without the maps issue I would have tried the Audi subscription for a year so chalking that down as part of the purchase price! Fingers crossed it's plain sailing from here cause really enjoying the car other than the software issue - glad you got yours sorted too 👍👌

I'd rather have got there for the sake of a £140 diagnostic than what could have been a lot worse. As far as the subscription goes, if it works for me I'll keep it, if not then it doesn't get renewed next year.

Thanks for all the replies. Looks like they've finally found the issue after having the car for 2 days! The software in the car was corrupt following an Audi OTA update a couple of years ago leading to the 'Sat Nat is Initiallising' loop and the car not being able to connect with Audi online services for any patches / updates since then. Its currently in a "battery centre" having a full wipe and reinstall, due to be complete by end of tomorrow (hopefully!) On a positive they are updating the software FOC and 'just' charging the !!£140!! diagnostic fee - when they explained what was needed they said there are no further charges as it was caused by Audi so they'll rectify it at their cost. Hopefully this sorts it - I'll drop a final update on it when I collect the car.....

Bit of an update....car went in to dealer yesterday for what they said would be a 1hr diagnostic, booked in at 9am. No updates from them, called them in the afternoon to request an update and nobody available. They call back at around 3pm and said everything looks to be in order - can we have you login details for myAudi?! Surely this isnt normal? In anycase I passed the login details over (after changing the password to a temporary one). No updates again so called at 17:40 last night and they respond to say they cant get into myAudi with my details, I'm sure they just haven't tried as it works fine for me!! Anyway, rant over but if the dealer cant resolve it then Im at a complete loss on this one!

Just tried again, the car reads the usb stick, recognises that it's "Navigation Data Europe" 2023.12_P130 but then states "the update data are unreadable" Memory stick is FAT32 formatted and the 2 folders plus the relevant file are in the root directory. Update file was via the myaudi link and app instructions have been followed so not sure where I'm going wrong with this!

Definitely possible but to be honest I've got no idea, never had so much trouble with something as basic as sat nav! It's in at the dealership on Monday to try and resolve a software issue so hopefully this gets sorted at the same time

Have downloaded the maps update via the myAudi app link and extracted to a USB stick - car is recognising the USB stick but saying there is no available update on there?

Yeah, have rebooted the MMI and still no luck. Going try and maps update today to see if that resolves the issue. If all else fails it's in at the local Audi dealership on 27th so hopefully it's sorted one way or another soon!

Hi I ended up purchasing the subscription but even though the license is showing on the MMI I just get a failure message that Audi Connect Service Installation failed. How do I access the info regarding MMI software & maps database versions? Thanks

Audi said £160/yr 😪 takes the pi$$ that basic functions like sat nav are stuck behind a pay wall. On the plus side loving driving the car - changed from a Ford Ranger so a bit different but well happy so far. Looks like it's Android Auto from here on 🤣

Spoke to Motorpoint and they said I need to speak to Audi, they didn't list it with Sat Nav (i didn't check if nav worked - just drove the car and was happy with it) so my fault there! Annoyed as it never even crossed my mind that sat nav wouldn't be included in a 71 reg A4.....you live and learn I suppose! Called Audi and they said we can help......you just need to subscribe to the Audi connect service for it to work!! Tried MMI reset and still no luck 😕 Not a major issue as Android Auto works, just grates on me that I've bought a decent car but basic things like the inbuilt sat nav aren't working

Hi all, Picked up a 71 reg A4 black edition yesterday, all good apart from the sat nav is stuck on the 'initiallising' screen. Is this something which has to be paid for through a subscription with Audi or does it just need an update? Thanks in advance!
