  1. My first thought was the same as Steve Q’s. At that mileage the cats best days are far behind it
  2. Cars registered either side of April 2017 can have quite big differences in tax so worth checking
  3. I’ve had the exact same experience with my wife’s Audi mmi as you are having, I ended up giving up and just use CarPlay for everything when I use it. Thought it was just me but even my teenagers moan about how bad the mmi is to use compared to the bmw idrive. Sorry I can’t give any help to solve your problem
  4. Glad you got it sorted, open circuit faults often mean you’ve dropped a feed wire but finding where on the circuit can be a challenge.
  5. Great outcome
  6. That trim may it be applicable to Every model, looks like A small plastic air deflector. some have another tray that connects onto them 2 fixings
  7. Locator will be on the connector body if it has one, not inside near the O rings helps
  8. Little bit of grease on the O rings helps, might be a locator on it to get the rotation correct
  9. I would Tow with a Tdi, tfsi or a full electric. I would not with a hybrid unless you are only planning to own it while it’s under warranty due to the complex integration of the drive systems and possible weaknesses
  10. Them holes have very large plastic clips that go thru the above tray and the mid section tray, they are reusable
  11. Never had to replace one so could not say about coding but would think that the electronic board could removed from existing unit and and fitted into the replacement unit if the damage is limited to the plastics
  12. Thats a bag circled. That’s where the bags are sometimes found on bottles without mit silikat printed on them
  13. Unfortunately it wasnt printed on every reservoir that it was fitted in but this may be year dependent. Shining a torch thru the empty reservoir bottle while looking inside is a good way of checking for one also if in doubt. below photo is from a T6 with nothing on bottle as a idea where to look
  14. Finding out what VAG cars got the bag is almost impossible, I’ve never came across any service document that states what vin numbers they were introduced from which also means we don’t know what vehicles were affected. The logic behind the bags makes sense from a VAG standpoint, they have to allow for all regions of the world where maybe service procedures are not followed so a few blocked heater matrix’s is better then engines failing due to corroded engine internals. A pain in the !Removed! but still better then skimming engine heads and blocks
  15. Are you getting ignition on like car wants to start but no crank
  16. If your not getting high engine temps and the system is getting hot I would think your pump is working
  17. Totally understand what your saying and yes well worth getting it checked for safety and to put your mind an ease. Keep us updated on the outcome
  18. Pay attention to Vehicles caster angle on a wheel Alignment report as almost impossible to Adjust and is a sure way of spotting if chassis is likely bent, toe in toe out is easy adjusted and cambers can be fudged but incorrect caster is hard to hide
  19. a chassis alignment check will Require a bodyshop with a jig and measuring system, most commonly a car o liner here in the uk which is what we use, Wheel Alignment check can be done at almost all tyre centers. If wheel alignment check is good and all Panel gaps appear nice then chassis is probly fine
  20. Your not missing anything if you don’t have them, Hid’s needed them in uk as a legal requirement but all they do is use your screen wash quicker. Headlamp washer pump is located higher in the bottle on most manufacturers so they run out of fluid before your windscreen pump for obvious safety reasons
  21. Ignition on, dipped Beam on, pull the screen wash lever. Should hear a load pump noise and water spraying everywhere, work once in every 7ish cycles during driving but if following the above procedure they would work 1st time everytime
  22. Mine are just blanks as all There bumpers come with the caps but extra parts are required for them to open
  23. It’s not just an Audi problem, all manufacturers are in the same boat with failing LED units . LED headlamps also do not require headlamp washers so a cost saving for manufacturers, after seeing many customer repair bills when I sourced my b9 I went for basic halogen lights and to there credit there amazing
  24. It’s not timed, your not interfering with any of the engine timing so don’t worry, from memory the 10mm hex is 30nm and is applied to pump housing while The torx’s or tightened. The 30nm on the 10mm hex is not a bolt, it’s on the pump Housing and is used to set the belt tension. Strange idea I admit
