  1. Just an update. I successfully changed the upper and lower seals on the fuel injection pump. It is tricky getting the adjuster back in the hole on the shaft, but it finally went in. Pump was marked to enable correct alignment and to hopefully maintain correct quantity adjustment. Good instructional video on ytube about priming pump after and replacing seals. So back together and restarted. Only problem is a rough idle at 800 tickover. Unsure if air in lines. I would like to crack fuel lines to expel any air but they are welded solid at the moment. Have left soaking in wd40. Any advice on moving the nuts appreciated.
  2. Will do. Got to tackle gasket on the diesel pump quantity adjuster first.😱
  3. Hi Gareth, thanks for the reply yes I am hoping to DIY this job if its fairly straight forward.
  4. Hi, all I just need a bit of advice regarding an oil leak please. I have attached a picture and would like to be able to stop the oil leak. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks Arnie
  5. Hi, I have had great help from Mike on the forum regarding buying the correct seal kit for the fuel pump on my car. I need to replace seals 2 & 4 in the diagram. I'd like to do this with the pump in situ. Just need advice on if this is possible and anything I need to look out for. Thanks Arnie 11
  6. Thanks will do. What do you think about cutting the plastic pipe a bit shorter to reduce the tight angle?
  7. Thank you I had bought 5.6mm pipe but will change to 5mm. Thank you for the advice rev the engine to hopefully avoid having to bleed the system.
  8. Thank you for the advice it is the pipe with a blue marking on. I'm not sure how to identify return and delivery. The pipe it attaches to is actually plastic. A friend said to cut it further up to avoid the tight turn.?
  9. Hi, I've taken the rear bracket of the engine cover and I cannot for the life of me see where it fits back on. Any advice gratefully received. Audi a4 b5.
  10. Hi, just looking for advice on changing the fuel lines in the picture. Is it as simple as removing and replacing or will the system need bleeding. Also I measured the plastic pipe as 5.7 with not very accurate caliper. Anyone know the size I'm guessing 5.6. Thanks for any help.
  11. Thanks Mike that is very helpful. I'm hoping to just change the top two large seals with the pump in situ. I haven't got the space or skill to take the whole pump out. It never rain but it pours. After much struggling I mananaged to change the serpentine belt, tensioner and alternator overrun pulley. Less than a week later the coolant pump to thermostat hose has burst. I've managed to find a new hose but I wanted to changed the short hose next to it at the same time. Any ide what is called? It is no 4 in the attachment. Thanks again for your help. Mark
  12. Thanks Gareth, that' great. Now why didn't I think of that. Just got home and the radiator hose has split. The horrible pipe clips are facing the wrong way any ideas how to get these off without damaging the good pipe.
  13. Hi, could a kind person please tell the size of the diesel fuel line I need to purchase. Thanks
  14. Thank you from what I can make out the part number is 2 464 483 268. I have attached another image showing more of the pump and where the it looks the leak is coming from.
