  1. Hey, I never identified the source of the leak. I have previously had the water pump replaced (which I understand is a common issue on these engines) but not sure if that was the auxiliary one or a different one? I would always rather go for fixing "properly" but I didn't have the time to get the car booked in so went for quick and easy.
  2. Not an answer to your question and... I might get lambasted for suggesting this but... I had a leak on mine that my mechanic had repeatedly failed to address so I threw a container of radweld in and that seems to have fixed the issue. I know some people don't really like it but it does seem to have worked.
  3. Hey All, I have a 2008 1.8 T Petrol A3 Sportback. It was parked up for 2 and a half years whilst I was driving a lease car from work but I pulled it out of storage in November and have been driving with no real issues since then. A few days ago I drove to work, no problem. Drove back home for lunch, also no issue at all. When I came to drive back after lunch it would not start. Engine is turning over and it sounds like it's firing but is sounds horrible and like the timing is out (oh for the "good old days" when I could just grab hold of the dizzy and give it a spin). The RAC came out and the report from them is; P2004 - Intake manifold runner control stuck open (Bank 1) P0341 - Camshaft position sensor Circuit, signal not feasible Now, I used to do a reasonable amount of playing with cars but stopped when everything became computerised (although ironically I work in IT...) but I decided that a camshaft sensor was probably something I could cope with. Brought a Haynes manual but discovered that it doesn't cover my engine ( it has the 1.6L and the 2L petrol but not the 1.8). So, I reverted to youtube but I seem to be struggling to find anything with decent info about the location and testing process for the Camshaft sensor on my engine. I think as you look at the engine bay its on the left at the front, but that sensor only seems to have 2 wires connected and everything I can find online is suggesting it should be 3. Can anyone point me in the right direction or provide any insight?
