  1. Roof now works. Trunk still does not. We're making progress.
  2. @Steve Q Definitely will. Eagerly waiting for Evri to drop off my sensor. I believe I need to do an adaption test and unsure if I need to reset the roof first a couple of times. We'll see.
  3. Hopefully it's just the sensor. A brand new one was found on eBay for £40. Same part number. So game plan is swap it over, close manually, adaptation test. Hope.
  4. I got the convertible down completely. Looks like the positioning sensor is broken.
  5. Adding a few updates to this: When doing a basic output test, I can confirm everything works independently The 0s and 1s are in the wrong sequence with the closed and open state so there is a fault somewhere Unfortunately I'm unable to open the rear deck when doing the emergency release unlock and this will not budge at all The boot lid will likely work independently without the key needed once the sequence for the roof opening/closing is correct. It won't open if the roof is open and as the sequence is out, the boot won't open. The bits when the roof is closed are in the wrong sequence entirely. I'm going to attempt a manual reset tomorrow if I can free the rear deck and see if this fixes the issue. The pump is in good working order according to the output tests and I've checked the little plastic actuators and those are free and aren't seized.
  6. About a few hours from me. I'll look at it closer to the time. Do you know how much they typically charge? I put in my OBD11 and did some live tests and output tests and it seems like a sensor might be out. I do need to get the roof off and go through the sequence and see where it fails.
  7. That sequence is the same. I've still yet to look over the owners manual. I cannot test the boot as its not functioning from the remote.
  8. Finding one here is a nightmare. The closest is vagpro which is in Leicester (that seems the best one) My dad was convinced that he knocked a sensor and when I did a fault reading code it was showing a sensor issue (this was on the cable that is now damaged) so I'm going to see if the OBD11 can help at all but all the parts in the output test from the valves to the pumps, etc... they all function and you can hear them. I even took the pump apart (the magnet was a !Removed!) and I'm glad I scratched off on the casing where it has to sit to go back on correctly and checked everything and it was all incredibly clean. I'm not sure who I could ask around here really. Leicester is quite a drive.
  9. That's very interesting so it might not be a problem at all rather just a security feature and if I got this right from my process: Car is locked Car is unlocked Passenger side doesn't automatically unlock unless pressed twice If that's the case, I'll have a read through the service manual and have a look mate and see if that's what's going on. The boot unfortunately doesn't work with a double press and from what I've found online when the convertible roof doesn't have the correct sequence, the boot is locked as a safety requirement. I think if I can figure the convertible out, it might figure the boot out on its own.
  10. Hey guys. I got myself an a4 cabriolet 2006 3.2 petrol - lovely little car (actually inherited of my dad for free) and it has a few niggling issues The boot and convertible roof doesn't work - the light is flashing on the dash to indicate it needs to be closed and unless you use the key, the boot doesn't open automatically on the fob. I did a little investigation and using my rosstech cable, I was able to do some output tests and the pump is working, the motor is working, all the valves seem to work so I wondering if a sensor has knocked off which isn't allowing the gates of 0s and 1s to be correct? I also unfortunately damaged the cable so it no longer works. I ordered an OBD11 to see if I can figure some things out? The passenger door doesn't unlock with the fob, you have to press the button twice to unlock the passengers side. I'm having a look at the service manual to see if there is some kind of reset I can figure out. Maybe it's an acutator that's out and needs replacing or cleaning? Also the windows are !Removed! squeaky. I've tried some wd40 but this hasn't done anything so I don't know if the door card needs to come off and I need to look at oiling the runners? I'm not the most car mechanically minded person but I'm quick to learn and happy to give things a go. Any help is greatly appreciated. I'll attach a couple of pictures of her being clean Anyone that helps me diagnose my issues will have beer money and take away money on standby as a thank you. I could take it somewhere but I kind of want to give it a go myself.
