  4. I really do like the balance of the twin exhaust. There are aftermarket diffusers that would take the twin set up that I have on the TDI, but I would need to do something clever with the RHS to create a fake tail pipe as there isn't much room with the AdBlue tank. Anyway, to answer your question, on the picture in my first post, you can see a tab on the pipe laying down, just needs lifting up to clear the pin on the exhaust and a little pull.

I didn't have anything sophisticated (other than a small chisel) when I last had a disc screw stuck in my B8, so I hammered that into the screw in an anti clockwise direction, and it eventually came out The headlight sensor was also noticed broken, just hanging around, when I had my rear springs changed, but we decided to just cable tie it safe 😄
  7. @wanleg They are under your glovebox. The recirculation flap motor (2) is on the left, the fresh air flap motor (3) is at the back; you can see some arms connected to this one. In my case, at least, it was (2). After removing the cover under the glovebox, the motor is fastened with 3x torx screws. You will however need someone with VCDS to run the basic settings after fitting the new motor. Unfortunately, the distance from Hartlepool to me probably doesn't make it very economical for my help with this 🙂

  10. What's most likely is whoever changed the discs before has destroyed the thread in the hub plate when removing the screw in the original disc 🙄
  11. The disc was probably rotated covering the tapped hole in the hub plate 🤔😆
  12. Having replaced one before due to a damaged head, I grabbed some from the rack where I was working at the time. I think they are M6x12 You can buy them from eBay for a few ££ if no where local has them.

  15. Hi all, I did a search but couldn't find anything conclusive on this. Quick background for posting this: I got a text saying my personal fuel card from Fuelpecker has now changed to WEX ESSO and there was a link to sign up. Naturally sceptical, I contacted Fuelpecker and Googled to see if there was something to confirm this was legit. I've been filling up at ESSO for years, partly because of the discount, I pass four ESSO services daily and I was under the impression that cheaper supermarket fuels are of a lower quality. While looking for something to back up the text, I found these posts: https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/fuelpecker.220220/#post-3906993 https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/fuelpecker.220220/#post-3907553 It got me thinking and my questions are: what do you guys fill up your cars with, so-called quality fuels from BP, Shell, ESSO, supermarket fuel, or the premium stuff? And do you notice any difference between them? In my own experience, my previous A4 B8 diesel didn't run well on fuel from Tesco, so I switched to ESSO all the time with the discount card, and after some years started using Millers diesel treatment and now Archoil. I've never tried the fuel additives with Tesco fuel. I can also add to this I've tried all the premium fuels, and BP was by far the best in terms of getting more MPG and performance, without the addition of a fuel additive.
