  1. Yes, it's why I avoided the Quattro but it sounds like you'll definitely benefit from it in the winter. The Cataclean and Archoil are great for the fuel system and DPF, but for the EGR cooler the main contributer being the AdBlue so no amount of fuel system cleaner will negate that, but it should help delay from the perspective of the fuel contributers.
  2. I didn't notice it is a Quattro, so the MPGs I'm getting is not helpful here. At least you have the satisfaction of knowing the average over it's 67k so that rules out something more sinister too, so that's great news. @Jaime A5 Quattro is yours diesel? Fingers crossed the EML comes on, so you can get the EGR valve and cooler replaced with some help from the warranty cover. Paying forward a tip from @Stevey Y is run a bottle of cataclean through it, you should be very pleased with the outcome.
  3. Those values, even the "improved" ones don't seem right. I can cruise at 68mph along A roads for approx. 35 miles and achieve ~75mpg, if I push it, I still get ~65 mpg, according to the trip data. My only gauge is I had a A4 BB 2.0 diesel and for the same amount of fuel and journey, I'm now getting ~100 extra miles per tank. I only use Esso standard fuel with the required dose of Archoil. There could be something more sinister going on there. Edit: what's the service history? I changed the air filter and spray cleaned the MAF sensor shortly after getting mine, but I don't recall the MPGs ever being as low as you're seeing. I also think my car has the latest version of software.
  4. That's interesting. Do you know which version of software it was / is now? What's you're typical driving and MPGs were you getting?
  5. Why did you have the software rolled back?
  6. The DPF cleaner will not solve the issue. The issue Is the EGR cooler, unfortunately.
  7. I still see the tailpipes going white, but I was wondering if the Archoil does this 🤔 I forgot to use the additive and didn't notice any white build-up....I should experiment more with this.
  8. I thought about this topic earlier when I heard the same noise coming from the neighbours new car when it started up. It's a Seat Ibiza 2016
  9. Here's what I would do. Revert the mapping so the car can see the EGRs Run it. If light comes on (which it probably will) have it diagnosed and it'll probably end up needing a new EGR and cooler. Accept that if you keep the car for several years, it'll need doing again but when exactly will depend on mileage, driving pattern, fuel quality.
  10. @AlanF it's detailed here in the thread you've commented on 🙂
  11. Nice one, thank you

  13. By my estimation I'm a couple of K miles away from needing to fill up the AdBlue tank. I'm almost certain it has the 24 litre tank. Where do you guys buy your AdBlue from? These seem like fairly common: Carlube AdBlue 10L with spout : Amazon.co.uk: Automotive Redex Adblue with Easy Pour Spout, Suitable for All Makes and Models, ISO22241 Compliant, 10 Litre : Amazon.co.uk: Automotive Has anyone used a pump instead of the containers?
  14. Update: I replaced the battery last week, and while I was doing it I unplugged and cleaned all the seat connectors but the backrest does not heat up. Not sure if I can be bothered to claim on the warranty / get it fixed because it's not something I need from the car.
  15. I'd add a drop of Kurust (or something similar) and do exactly as @RoyC has mentioned at 60% paint 40% clear to finish the job
  16. Thanks for your contribution here. Do you have any before and after photos of the products being used?
  17. It doesn't matter if you believe it or not, unfortunately. It's a fact 🙂
  18. @Laurentiu it's inevitable. No amount of fuel additives or spray cleaners will get rid of the problem. When the EGR cooler and valve have been replaced, you can however take measures to hopefully delay the inevitable......
  19. Does anyone know if the activated carbon with fungicidal effect filters are any better than the activated carbon version? For the A5 B9 the price difference is almost double (£62 vs £32). The service interval of 2 years is recommended however I can't help questioning if a mileage or duration (whichever is soonest) would be more appropriate 🤔
  20. I'm intrigued to know how you've discovered this. For what it's worth, I think what you've been told is correct.
  21. Big red are awesome for piston kits and exchange callipers.
  22. Always remember to brake when there is a solid tone.....otherwise you could impact something (like I did) 😄
  23. We've had the Golf for 2 years now, and it hasn't got noticeably worse.
