You can 😉 I think the MOT referred to it as a rear coil spring rubber mount.
-
One on mine looks like that. It was mentioned on MOT last year (before o bought it). Wasn't mentioned this year. I have to say, the other side does look significantly more robust. Garage said it's ok. Just for context; I've been going there for years and trust their judgement. I'll take some photos and post for reference.

Brake caliper heating/noisy, tried nearly everything

Were the guide pins sufficiently lubricated with silicone grease, and a small amount of copper grease added to the pad interfaces on both the cradle and caliper? -

I think you're right, but without seeing the car it's a consideration worth making given everything else that has been changed 🙂 -
Interesting set of post-purchase questions 😕

I read this yesterday, and talking to a guy at work he mentioned wheel bearing would be worth checking, but they usually whine and then you can feel "play" in them. -
That ticking is fairly typical of the high pressure fuel injection

Should I believe the computer's servicing advice?
jdragon replied to roger h's topic in Audi A4 (B9) Forum
As Magnet says, it's likely set to the flexibile schedule. Scroll down to 'when should I service my Audi' https://www.audi.co.uk/uk/web/en/owners/servicing.html -
That's the summary of Bosch. And no response to-date. The new MANN pollen filter however is performing as you'd expect.
-
I changed to cabin/pollen filter too, for a Bosch version and could literally smell everything the roads had to offer during my drive in to work yesterday. Needless to say I've refitted to old one until I get a replacement. Incidentally, that was a VAG part too (fitted by the dealership) with MANN branding.
-
Have you looked on this section https://www.audiownersclub.com/forums/forum/148-audi-servicing-and-repairs/

Thank goodness the technicians were able to provide such valuable input 😄
-
The Bosch filter box was sealed, and had a replacement o-ring for the filter housing cap. I went back to ECP and they confirmed the other Bosch filters they checked at random were the same, however the MANN version does, so I've fitted that instead. I've emailed Bosch and will report back if it yields a response.
-
Changed the oil and filter today at 9000k miles since the last mileage interval service and noticed the filter used by the VAG specialist has a soft seal, whereas the Bosch one I bought doesn't. Any thoughts on this guys?

I know from experience there's enough adjustment in the seat to accommodate your height, and getting in will be ok for reasons already mentioned. The only tricky aspect could be getting out because of the low seat and ride height.
-
The garage is correct. Some good advice here already. Alternatively you can either replace all of them and hope that cures the noise, or what I'd do is forget about until it starts knocking as it becomes more worn, then it'll be easier to identify for replacing.
-
@Magnet is right. Don't waste time or effort trying to save money here. Get a decent battery and rest assured it has been done properly. You can get a Varta or Bosch from Tanya batteries delivered for around £135. Then have someone with VCDS tell your car it has a new battery. I haven't changed the battery in my A5 yet, but I posted exactly how to do this in the A4 forum a couple of years ago. It'll be different for the B9 platform, but the code aspects will be the same.
-
Good luck getting this resolved. Do report back on the outcome. It'll be helpful for anyone else who finds themselves in the same predicament.

Do you know the previous owner? The VCDS hack to disable the stop/start will only work with the AC on. When the AC is off, the stop/start works. I can understand why this may bother you. I'd be inclined to have someone with VCDS to check the module. Seems too much of a coincidence. Like @Magnet I switch of manually because of same reasons. I also never have AC switched off, so the hack wouldn't be an issue, but I don't mind pressing the button. This is where you will find in VCDS

If the part isn't VAG approved or OEM the car may not recognise it, which seems to be the case here because the error still suggests it's the throttle body. Unfortunately you won't know unless your purchase a genuine/approved part.

Have you owned your car from new? I don't have the details to hand but there's a VCDS hack that involes the stop/start and AC. Is the light on the stop/start button when it's deactivated?
-
@Teddynewson suggestion is definitely a good idea. Please do post how this progresses.

Reading your post, you haven't replaced or at least cleaned the MAF sensor, is that correct? My B8 diesel had rough idle issue at one point, and a quick clean solved it. Behaving when cold makes me think it's worth trying here 🤔
