Mine are all back to after an update on the stations, and someone before said they sound better.. it sounds more alive, almost like spatial sounds nearly from the early 80s! Hey boo! Maybe a system upgrade someone did but forgot to tick the'broadcast' button??

Just got this text from Audi And it's not even one of the two case numbers I have! Turns out there are two tech teams in the UK and I got a call from one of them 3 hours ago to update me they'd found nothing yet.. Can't wait to rate their service, I'm sure.....

I've called Audi Tyneside again today. (Lookers is the dealership, based in Glasgow). They still maintain they have heard nothing of this issue, bounced me between teams then eventually to Glasgow HQ who were similarly blank n stonewalling.... I then called Audi UK back with the case reference i had. Their latest suggestion was to try rescanning for goodness sake.... I sent them an email last night with the details they had requested when I logged the case earlier this week and I've yet to hear anything anywhere near authoritative from them. I did explain this would only get worse and more public the more people realised they had this issue, so getting ahead of it (probably too late for that) would be in their best interests. Their number is 0800 699 888 should anyone want to pile on the pressure!

I think the right and ethical thing to do, understanding we are all somewhat annoyed by this, is to allow Audi UK time to consider the information and solutions, and should a sufficient time pass without updates or a refusal to address be the case, then next steps could include the mainstream press, but that's just my opinion.

From this thread, the vast list of cars impacted is below, so I think it's fair to say it's not a car issue. 2015 A6 2015 A6 Avant Hardware H61 RMC_EU_P16342 - Upgraded from RMC_EU_P14321 2015 Q3 RMC_EU_P14321 2015 S1 RMC_EU_P14321 2016 A1 Hardware H61 RMC_EU_P16342 - Upgraded from RMC_EU_P1432B 2016 A6 2016 A6 Avant 2016 A6 SE 2016 Q3 2017 A1 2017 A6 2017 A6 Avant 2017 Q3 RMC_EU_P16342 2017 S1 2018 A1 RMC_EU_P16342 2018 A6 2018 A6 Avant RMC_EU_P16342 2018 Q3 I'll share this info with Audi UK against the case I raised yesterday - Case: 0003534313 A few others have looked into the Hardware issue, and H61 appears to be a stumbling block. Add to that the owner manuals advise DAB+ is supported, it's not great. I'll report back with what they come back with.

I've now got a case reference from Audi UK. Spoke to a very helpful guy there and he's since emailed to say their tech team will need to take a look, so I'll share screen shots and updates with them when on laptop later. I'll update here as I hear something to report back.

My cars got a CD, SD and DAB combined so that fits. 🙄

Ok so I just went to look at the radio in the car and forgot I looked through the scanner over the weekend and the list divides the stations into regions and under Newcastle / North East there's a listing for Planet Rock. I tried it and it worked, but the other tuned station called the same doesn't. I'll need to check out further, but it does indicate a difference maybe in broadcast.
-
I'm a tad sceptical that the conversion from DAB to DAB+ is to blame, as I checked when Planet Rock moved and it was October 2023. They posted on X on that date "Planet Rock's digital radio transmission has just been switched from DAB to DAB+". That being said, I just found this - https://www.digitalradiochoice.com/news/absolute-radio-kiss-kisstory-and-magic-radio-to-switch-to-dab/. I don't know what others listen to but this happened on 31st March 2025 - the article says it covers just Absolute Radio, KISS, KISSTORY and Magic Radio. I just did a quick check - Bauer Media Audio UK is a UK-based radio division of Bauer Media Group owning brands; Absolute Radio, Greatest Hits Radio, Jazz FM, Hits Radio, KISS, Planet Rock, Magic, Kerrang! Radio and Heat Radio.

@tp5harp useful update then for sure. I'll look at that before picking up with Audi UK again to discuss this issue.
-
Cheers all. I'll document this later and feed back to the person I'm speaking to at Audi UK too!
-
@Smithers01 good call. Happy to correlate and pass back to Audi on the back of the call I made earlier, if it helps.
-
Interesting an hour ago they said they'd not heard of it then!!! And yes, I've done the same as I too hate wasting money
-
@Smithers01 I spoke to Tyneside Audi and they'd not heard of the issue yet. i then called Audi UK and they were more helpful and have raised a technical case to have it checked out. They will call or email me with updates in the next day or two, they hope.

So going to the control buttons, select Car, Cetup MMI, then scroll to the bottom to Version Information. Mine shows the version below. I did try re-scanning stations like others have suggested, and only the local / non-national stations have come back into play.

I'll call them on Monday morning and let you'd group know what they said. Almost certainty it'll be... We cannot diagnose over the phone, please bring it in for a diagnostic check at £125 or something, but you never know! Just editing my post. I'm an IT Engineer by trade and I just thought... I wonder what firmware all our radios have.. I'll look tomorrow and drop something here on how to check for those that don't know
-
Cheers Dave, I'll take a look n let this forum know how that goes then. Kind of you to reply!

I've an A6 with factory fitted radio and have the same issue. Sure it started about a week or so back, but I don't drive every day so cannot be exact. Seems odd that all our radios stopped playing DAB channels at around the same time? Mine stays tuned to Planet Rock almost exclusively, so I cannot comment on other stations going offline the same time. That said, I've since tested it and don't have any DAB channels playing at all now. I've not tried any sort of reset, even though a couple of searches have suggested that. Be interesting to see if anyone else has this issue. Clearly not a geography or model of car issue.
