  1. Could be the chain cam tensioner. Can be quite a common fault.
  2. Hi and welcome to the club! :)
  3. I've read somewhere that it can get funny about copy protected cd's? Have you tried another source?
  4. Have you been in an A6 with 20's and experienced the ride?
  5. This is on Audi's website don't know if it helps: http://www.audi.co.uk/content/dam/audi/production/PDF/PriceAndSpecGuides/a4-a4allroad-s4.pdf
  6. Hi mate welcome aboard! Get some pictures up of the S4 when you can! :D
  7. Hi Pat welcome to the club! :)
  8. The Audi S3 Sportback gives you an abundance of power and agility, featuring a turbocharged 2.0-litre TFSI engine with 300 PS and quattro permanent all-wheel drive. But it also offers a level...
  9. Clutch slip would normally only happen in higher gears like you said too. Try taking it on a motoroway/dual carriage way and then putting your foot down from low revs in top gear
  10. Like one of these? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-A4-B6-B7-Armrest-Arm-Rest-Centre-Console-Grey-Cloth-/151213840969?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3AAudi%7CModel%3AA4&hash=item23350c1a49
  11. Hi and welcome :) It does sounds a lot like clutch slip. How many miles has the car done? Normally, with clutch slip, the revs will go up but not your speed.
  12. I'm not sure how you would find the individual VIN number. Perhaps ask at an Audi dealer? I'm sure I have seen some 2009's with towbar prep but I could be wrong.
  13. Could be the door control module similar to this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181248982631 That one is off an A4 but I have heard of other people having issues with these
  14. When the power steering light came on was the power steering still working?
  15. Hi and welcome to the club! The reverse light fault could be to do with the reverse light switch on the gear box. This can be quite a common fault.
  16. Not sure if it's related but I have heard that DPF regeneration can cause the revs to hold about 1000/1500 rpm?
  17. Yes I was lucky to get away from that badger in one piece! :P
  18. HI and welcome to the club! :) That's a lot of issues to have with the car when you have only just bought it. Did you know about all these issues?
  19. If the TDI has been looked after and serviced properly then it should have plenty of life left in it yet. It really depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for economy overall then the diesel will be a better choice. However, bear in mind that diesel is around 10p per litre more expensive and the car is £1000 more so you need to take into consideration how long you will have the car and how long it will take to recover the extra costs. Most people seem to think that you need to do around 12000 miles per year or more to benefit from having a diesel once you have taken into account the (generally) increased cost of buying one and the extra 10p per litre on fuel. Let us know what you decide to do :)
  20. Hi Andy welcome to the club by the way! :)
  21. I know Audi's that run long life oil and service schedules are actually meant to burn off a little oil so that fresh oil is gradually added but definitely not that much. Have they agreed to pay the labour too?
  22. Have you checked the fuse first of all for the rear wiper? If not I would expect it to be the motor itself. With regards to the labour costs I would think £80 is going to be around 1 hours labour for a specialist so possibly not that high. May be worth asking them what the quoted time is?
  23. I'd take the more powerful lower mileage one and get the work done if you can budget for it. At least that way you know it has all be sorted.
  24. I would think that would be the date the belt had been manufactured rather than fitted but it's fairly recent anyway so it should have been fitted after that which is good! Good find!
  25. Can't see the picture?
