  1. Hi Paul welcome to the club! Good luck finding a nice Quattro! :)
  2. Seems like a reasonable price to me!
  3. No worries let us know if you find something good...
  4. I would definitely go with a remap rather than a tuning box. A tuning box is just something that fits 'in between' and messes with the signals sent. A remap is where the map on the actual ECU is changed for a new one and it does not require any physical modification. As long as you get it done by somebody reputable then this is definitely the way to go :)
  5. Style is something Audi definitely seem to get right. They have a good formula and they stick with it.
  6. There are people out there who fix OEM cd players etc but it will depend on the cost as to what your best option is. If you want to keep the OEM look then getting it repaired will be a lot more cost effective than Audi as they will want a silly amount for a new one. If this doesn't worry you then you should be able to get some good value by going down the after market route.
  7. Hi and welcome! I haven't seen any genuine Audi rubber mats I'm afraid only carpet - but I could be wrong. If you're not worried about them being genuine then there's loads of options on ebay. How come you're after rubber anyway?
  8. Hi and welcome to the club! Looking forward to the pics! :)
  9. Hi Mark, Welcome to the club! :) It's difficult to say without having a feel for myself as to exactly how stiff it is but at a guess I would say it sounds fine if it's ok in manual mode. Probably just solid build quality as you say! Worth getting them to change the fluid if you buy it though!
  10. Hi and welcome to the club! :) Are you looking to fit aftermarket DRLs or genuine Audi? If it's aftermarket you want then you can pretty much fit any style you like and wire them in manually. If it's genuine Audi then it will get much more expensive...
  11. No worries. There are still people that do removal whilst leaving the casing so it looks like it's still there but obviously at your own risk etc...
  12. Hi and welcome to the club! :) Depends on how much smoke? Have you tried running a fuel system cleaner through and taking it for a rag? Using all the revs getting it nice and warm etc?
  13. Hi Damien, With regards to DPF removal, yes it can be done but it is being made illegal and will result in MOT failure from next year due to emissions etc see here: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-news/consumer-news/84818/mot-test-fail-dpf-removal For a remap try someone like superchips, they've been doing it for years and are fairly well respected.
  14. It's a shame Audi can't see it when it happens. It's just one of those things you get where the problem won't perform when you try and show someone :(
  15. Glad you're enjoying the new Audi! Surprising to hear about all the problems with the Mazda. Normally Jap cars are fairly well screwed together - well apart from the cheap feeling interior plastics of course! :)
  16. Have you looked in the setting to see if the option is enabled? If not I have a feeling that on some of the older version of MMI it was not available or you could only have that OR an iPod connection?
  17. If you put an aftermarket system in then this information will not be sent. It will revert back to date/time or whatever else it displays.
  18. Sounds electrical but weird how it is temperature related. Not one I have heard of before. I'm scraping the barrel here but immobiliser fault??
  19. Under the sales of goods act the dealer will have at least some responsibility for the car for 6 months. See the quote below from trading standards: The onus is normally on you rather than the trader to prove a claim (that is, to prove that the vehicle is faulty in some way). However, the law states that if you are claiming repair, replacement, full or partial refund within the first six months of ownership, the onus is on the trader to prove that the vehicle was sold without faults when you bought it. This is called the 'reversed burden of proof'. After six months, the burden of proof reverts back to you to provide evidence to support your claim that the vehicle was faulty when it was sold. Glad you're enjoying the car though and fingers crossed you won't have any problems anyway! :)
  20. Ouch doesn't sound great :( Fingers crossed you have some luck with the goodwill gesture. Not sure why it's only dealer level though!
  21. Hi and welcome. Not especially easy I'm afraid. The simplest way is to remove the whole front bumper believe it or not! :(
  22. Hi Phil welcome to the club! Sounds like it's a bit of a gamble to be honest. Of course, there are people out there that maintain cars themselves and do a good job of it but obviously you don't know for sure. If this is reflected in the price then fair enough but I would take it for a decent drive and listen for any unusual noises and check all the fluid levels and see how clean the oil looks etc. If you do go for it then get a full service after picking it up for peace of mind! Going to be a gamble though I guess. Is the dealer offering much of a warranty?
  23. No worries glad you got it sorted! :)
  24. Hi and welcome to the club! The only way you would get any goodwill out of Audi is if you have full main dealer history and even then may be difficult on a 2007 car. Worth a try though! :)
  25. Did either of you manage to get this sorted?
