Not impressed with Audi Sat Nav, money would be better spent on a TomTom.

Well, I always take my TomTom when go on longer trip. I have more confidence in TomTom , but Audi sat nav gives good traffic info.

£241 for an SD card update!! Are Audi serious?

I quite agree, I complained about the incorrect speed limits displayed on some local roads 3or 4weeks after buying the car, only to have a very disinterested reply of, “bad luck, can’t do anything “! Since then, I’ve been very unimpressed with the SatNav, and when I go on a longer journey, I always put my TomTom in the car. I would never recommend Audi SatNav. I get free updates with TomTom, and the SD card for the Audi SatNav could be updated via computer download for practically no cost! But Audi make money wherever they can!

I have same problem, to the point that I will occasionally switch off the stop start, as it feels as though I've stalled the car. I mentioned it at last service, but no fault found.

I found errors on my navigation map when I picked up my 16 plate A3, new last year! I enquired about how to update the SD card, but AUDI had no update procedure, as far as I know, you still have to buy an updated card from AUDI at a huge extortionate price! You can buy a 32 G card for £20! When I go on long trip, I also take my TomTom with me! So good luck!

I would assume you're missing the sd card. For what they are, Audi charge an enormous price for them. Normally, you can update these cards on the internet, but Audi want to sell you the updated cards for a grand profit!

I've had no problems with my USB, so suspect connection issue?but worth trying a known reliable USB. Assume cd and sd working OK?

You can opt for the standard suspension I think.

Anyone know how much it costs to change the cigarette lighter into 12v usb connector? I forgot to order the non smoking package when ordering my new A3 sportsback. Thanks.

Don't forget to have he non-smoking package, I.e. No cigaret lighter, but 12v connector instead. I forgot when ordered mine!

Like my tinted glass, and metallic trim around outside Windows. Sat nav not impressive, and update procedure expensive and unclear advice. Mine was actually out of date when new! But Audi not interested. Tom Tom better, but like the way Audi sat nav retracts. Otherwise, like your spec.

The handbook refers to a door switch whereby you can disable the interior sensors when locking the car, however, my 16 plate A3 hasn't got one! Does anyone know if Audi have stopped fitting this switch?

Had another call from Audi rep re Sat Nav, with same message, I.e. "Bad luck, pay for update next time"! He still didn't know when update due for release, and still doesn't know how much will cost! Didn't even know procedure, thought I have touch screen model! Amazed at Audi, really couldn't care less attitude. Oh well, will pass on impression to friends and relatives!

Yes, exactly same, I have always assumed that the Sat Nav gives th correct reading. But always err on the lower reading when going through cameras!

To be honest, it's the result I expected. Pity about the poor quality of the Sat Nav, I have little faith in the speed limits displayed, so when I go reasonable distance, my Tom Tom will be glued to my screen! But I must admit, I am surprised that a manufacturer with the reputation that Audi has, produce such a poor quality product as the Sat Nav. Oh well, live and learn! Will update if learn anymore, but don't hold your breath!

Your Audi contact seems more interested than mine! He really bounced it back to me, saying my problem, although he will ring me back in a week with update! Be interested to learn your outcome. If there is one, I'll have his number!!

Given up trying to obtain information regarding the update of the SD card in the A3Sat Nav. Very surprised by the inefficiency of Audi, on this discrepancy anyway. You need to be aware that the speed limits displayed on the Sat Nav may be incorrect. I suspect that there is only one update a year, my car was provided with already out of date speed limits, so I'm assuming that I have to wait until 2017 before next update, which I have to pay for. Pity really,as otherwise, nice car!

I placed a comment on Audi Facebook page, which was picked up by Audi couple of days age, as yet, no reply. Tempted to mention to car magazines that the Sat Nav leaves a little to be desired!

A3 16plate Sportsback. Had call back from their Milton Keynes office, and was told basically"bad luck"! I have to wait until next update and pay for that! He couldn't even tell me when the update is due, but only updated once a year! I must admit, am quite disappointed with the update procedure for the Sat Nav, the download procedure on the web refers to the touch screen version only. For a quality car manufacturer, I am quite surprised at Audi, for the apparent offhand attitude to supplying an out of date map with a brand new car! BUT, I still love the car, I'll just have to be aware of speed limits which have been changed in the past 12 months!
