  1. I have the 1.4 tfsi stronic and no such issues. There is an alternative thread on another forum which is perhaps similar ? https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/s-tronic-issue.379869/#post-3328106
  2. you could also try - http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/forums/new-a3-s3-8v-chassis.244/
  3. yes and it is!
  4. I guess so (hopefully) - there is no obvious coolant, oil or other loss and the smell of the steam/smoke is clear in appearance and not smelly/dirty so probably condensation I would hope. Assuming it is a trait, I guess it is something I will have to monitor but it is quite noticeable compared to many other cars about!
  5. Hi - I know you posted this a while back, but I also have the same model and since new in sep2016 it has also done the same - it is a bit disconcerting but I have seen other very new TFSI's also doing the same thing so it seems for whatever reason that this engine/exhaust design seems more prone to do this. I had mine checked at the dealers but they were not concerned that there was any issue and there is no obvious excessive oil or coolant loss. Did you ever sort yours or does it still do it? moderator - just noticed that both of these posts should be in 8v forum - can you move please?
  6. with an sline, it should be xenons

    I agree with Magnet
  8. this is one of many threads on alternative forums http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/audi-a3-sd-sat-nav.190641/
  9. I have sent you a pm
  10. Yes, I got it in September and love it. Use the ACC all the time (although it is not fool proof) - only slight issue I have is that on mine, it chucks a lot out of the white exhaust stuff on tickover and under hard acceleration - I have had it checked out at the dealers though and have seen others doing it as well - just seems that TFSI engines are prone to doing this for some reason. In terms of value for money I guess you get more spec on a Golf, but I always wanted an Audi! In fact, my wife has just ordered an A1 1.4TFSI 125 Sport Sportback so we will have two fairly soon! One thing that is slightly disappointing though is that the standard sound system is not great. I also did not spec reversing sensors either (such a cheek they do not come as standard though) but if you are interested in either of these, I would spec the comfort and sound pack (£995) - its the one thing I regret not getting. Still waiting to calculate accurate mpg, but as most of my journeys are short/urban I never get great economy
  11. I have not bought a sim as I am still using the e/embedded sim - as far as I know the e/embedded sim is built in/installed somewhere else in the car - the spare sim slot in the glovebox (which I presume you are now using) is if you choose to use an aftermarket/alternative sim
  12. if you have a new A3 and you had the free 3 month trial - you should have an embedded/e sim that you can continue to use with audi connect
  13. In case you are not aware, you should be able to get Audi Customer Services to renew this free of charge for 1 year - they have done this for me and many others. I have pm'ed you the email address needed
  14. not sure if below helps? - I am sure audi's own website/brochure says there is an update approx. every 6 months so not sure why they are saying otherwise https://my.audi.com/content/dam/myaudi/brochures/audi-connect-guide-en.pdf
  15. sorry but I don't have an Audi yet as still waiting, but just saw above info - sure someone else with greater knowledge will advise - there is another alternative Audi forum (not sure I am supposed to say that so will not name it unless someone says I can!) that seems to get far most posts/posters so you could try that ?
  16. Cant you manually update maps as per below - this is taken from audi website/brochure Map updates The map version delivered can be updated with the first 5 updates which are issued at intervals of 6 months. The current navigation data can be downloaded from the myAudi Platform at audi.com/myaudi and installed in the vehicle via SD card. As a side issue, can you confirm whether the Sat Nav option amount was deducted from your invoice, on the basis that it later became standard fit - I ask because the same thing has happened with me regarding cruise control on the order I recently placed!

  18. Found this - not sure if applicable to all models though - Customers can continue to use a computer to download the data from the myAudi platform (www.audi.de/myaudi) and transfer the map data to the car on an SD card
  19. Having just placed an order for A3 Sportback 1.4 TFSI Sport Stronic in Misano Red, I am happy with the facelift but have one or two unanswered questions although I know its very early days! 1. I opted for cruise control as my only option on my (unsigned as yet) order and it was costed appropriately - I have now read cruise control is to be standard - I assume I can/will have this deducted from my order price? 2. Tango Red is a new colour - if this is a non metallic/pearl (no cost colour) I may want to choose this instead - how would I stand? Also I am pleased that other items such as light/rain sensor and Xenon lights with LED drl's are now to be standard as these are items I previously thought of but decided against as trying to avoid adding too many extras
  20. Reasonably so, I guess its my always looking for value for money side coming through, despite the fact I am dealing with a more premium brand than I have ever dealt with before!
  21. update - we have agreed to a compromise whereby we have been quoted a little more (in todays terms) for the new PCP payment, but the first service will be given to us as a gesture of goodwill. In reality, by the time the car arrives in 3-4 months time our existing PCP settlement will have fallen, so in actual fact we will not be paying much more for the new PCP than originally quoted on the initial order. As a result of all this, the discount ended up as being a touch over 15%. We were also advised that as the quota of car builds had been used up by the dealer, that our car would be a facelift model - I am a touch sceptical about that though in view of other conflicting posts about this subject!
  22. Agreed, I am partly to blame and I am normally a stickler for paying attention to detail. Just annoyed that they are the experts in this field, its their day job etc. I just hope that they will either stand by the order (as it has been placed as far as I am concerned and we have paid a deposit) or at worst there will be a very small (PCP) adjustment that is acceptable to us. Must admit it has put me off a little and I am now not holding out much hope!
  23. Just an update - unfortunately there has now been a problem with the order which I hope can be solved! As getting an Audi (lifelong ambition) will really stretch me, I used carwow to get a starting quote. Unfortunately, inadvertently (honestly) I got a quote for the A3 rather than sportback. However, neither I or the salesperson and finance guy spotted this, so the Sportback was configured, I received an order form and a deposit was placed clearly for the Sportback. I have now been told that when trying to push the order through, the anomaly in prices has been spotted and has caused a problem in the order process. The upshot is that the sales guy has indicated that the order will probably be refused by the dealership - which I am obviously not best pleased with. I have now spoken with the General Sales Manager and we have a face to face appointment later in the week to discuss further. I am praying they will do the honourable thing and agree to proceed as things stand. If anyone has any advice, I would appreciate it as it was an honest mistake from me but I feel that as none at the dealership spotted it and the order has been placed, I should not be penalised. As to whether I would receive a facelift/pi model (if the order goes ahead) is still unknown as the response was it will probably be a current model, but it might be a facelift/pi model!
  24. Hi Folks - first post for me! I have just placed an order for a A3 Sportback 1.4 TFSI Sport Stronic in Misano Red - only option I have chosen is cruise control (cant believe that a car so expensive does not come with that as standard - my Hyundai i10 costing less than half that has it and also has LED drl's which the A3 does not have either!) - I have been told it is subject to an approx. 4 month delivery wait. No mention was made of PFL or FL, so I am going to contact them to clarify! Also, at what point in the order process does the order become "locked" - just in case I wish to add anything further? I did receive about a 17% saving off list price though so must not grumble too much!
